Does Anyone remember "Nemesis" by Shriekback?
by lepermessiah intime for an obscure 80's classic..... i heard nemesis on sirius the other day and had to run out and get the album (oil and gold) again.. i think it came out around 1985, and it has some incredibly bizzare (and cool) lyrics.. all i know is that any song which contains the word "parthenogenesis" in the chorus and manages to rhyme it is quite an achievement!!.
it also features the singer claire torry (who sang on the dark side of the moon album) singing at frequencies that could break glass .
the video is pretty wild too!.

ex wants to be free to remarry - ugh
by No Apologies inok, i'm sure i am not the first one to be in this predicament but it sure is a headache, my jw ex called a few days ago, apparently she has met someone (they're not dating of course!
) and she wants to me to hand over the golden ticket.
she wants confirmation either in writing or verbally to a third party, that she is "scripturally free" to remarry.. i have managed for years now to avoid any judicial action and my jw family members still associate with me, but that all could come to a screeching halt if i give her what she wants.. the only bright side is she totally robbed me on the divorce; if she gets married i am at least off the hook for "spousal maintenance", that would mean potentially thousands of dollars in my pocket.... .

FHN, theyr'e divorced. It's not "letting her go" It's the real grown up world and none of her fuckin' bisness. She's getting paid by him to basically not get married, and if another guy can take care of this poor helpless woman and wants too, she's screwing him and her ex over far more by following stupid rules than the ex is by not giving her a letter. She needs to put on her big girl panties and make these decisions for herself. Why should the ex risk his family and friends and she should get off scott free? I do admire your empathy and compassion, however. And your always unique perspective.
