  @Essan: I am disappointed in your rhetoric. I have no desire to enter into melodrama... just to understand the point of view of others.

  Psalm 2, reads absolutely perfectly to me... Almighty God and his begotten Son, I am assuming is Jesus.

  This thread Jesus is Jehovah/Jehovah is Jesus. NOT according to the Psalmist. Again, please, end 45 years of trying to understand Trinitarian circular argument. How is a Trinitarian to explain Psalm 2, please? I am the pupil here.

  @Snowbird: I have read Exodus 3:14 and John 8:58. I beseech you to read John 8:57 to put the following verse into context and then read up on the translation of the verse. You will be enlightened. Jehovah is not Jesus, honey....

  but, Jesus is the Son of God, our appointed Saviour, begotten of his Father... Psalm 2 et al

  I have read your reply, thank you, (and already submitted mine!)...

  Whenever I read the Scriptures I try my best to put myself in context with the people of the time. In a difficult situation the first question I ask myself is "What would Jesus have done?"

  The letter to the Galatians was written around 40-50 AD, and I am aware of the struggle that already existed in that region and Paul's great concern for the brothers. That is why I wanted to focus on the Jewish mindset...

  After your critique... could you please attempt to explain to me Psalm 2...

  I have tried to understand this with "Trinitarian" eyes, as I have many of the references made by Paul and others to the Psalms.

  To me the reading is so simple... but, I am willing to accept a Trinitarian view.

  How possibly can Jesus be Jehovah? I await your considered reply. Thanks

  @Essan: I don't know why I should apologise for the fickleness of this forum and its relationship to my PC... but I will, in deference! My apologies.

  It is hard to maintain continuity of discussion on boards like this... but you did have a shot at trying to understand my own stance in this matter. I have no desire to enter into character assassination, just to evoke different points of view. I am sure you will agree there has been an interesting set of opinions offered.

  I was trying to bring the reader back to Galatians 1:8 and the warning of "another Gospel". ... to a Christian Jew listening to that letter from Paul.

  Then, I wanted to ask your opinion of that man's understanding of PSALM 2.... the whole of it, not an individual verse.

  I am withholding comment deliberately, other that to say, that I have tried my very best to read that Psalm, and many others with a "Triune" concept in mind. It just does not work.

  Jesus and Jehovah CANNOT be one and the same. That is my stance. In human terms, I see it as a loving Father and Son relationship, with all the Royal trappings and tributes. My Bible reads easily... I am quite happy to have others chip away at it, and consider those opinions... after all as many have stated here, we are not going to level a 2000 year hot debate with one posting on a dissident notice board.

  we've agreed to compromise on our differences and support each other through the years we have left.. i'm seeing a psychiatrist today to deal with my difficulties that stem from a traumatic and tumultuous childhood.. he is willing to yield in his beliefs that a man should control everything and make all the decisions.. being a stubborn jamaican, i realize how hard that is for him.. we're going to renovate the house so that he has his own quarters.. that way, my boisterous g'kids won't work his nerves too badly.. just wanted to put it out there.. syl.

  The end is approaching... of the financial infrastructure as we know it...

  Russia is building phenomenol hydro-electric dams and supply China with enough energy to fuel its emerging Economy... India is surging in financial strength, as the West (including the U.S) is running out of oil

  It is all about regime change... the Arab Spring.. the dodgy futures market...

  The end of the CURRENT economic system is upon us... just another fierce game of Tennis..

  We are perched on the side lines, biting our finger nails, will it be Fererer or Nadal... will it be Western Demoncracy or Chines Communism.

  In the UK we are preparing our Regional costumes, so that rich tourists can come and take photos of us as Welsh ladies in their hats spin their yarn and Morris dancers, dance round their Maypoles. UK industry has had it..

  Yup, the time is ripe for change...

  If I found myself on a chaise longue in a house church in Galatia, I am male, I incline to the presentation of God as listed in the Hebrew Scriptures.

  I understand Monotheism only, look forward to the Messiah, upon whom are bestowed all the blessings of Kingship and Authority by his Heavenly Father. In my mind, I have accepted Jesus of Nazareth as the Son of God, the one begotten Son, who came and died for me...

  I then hear Paul (an eminent teacher amongst the Jews) warn of others preaching "another Gospel"... I would be highly suspicious of an agressive group of "so-called" brothers who tried to twist my relationship with Almighty God and The Christ into a triune Chaldean/Hellenic concept.

  Would you have me believe, that at the baptism of my Lord, the voice of his Father came from Heaven, a dove appeared above his head, and all these three presences were part of the same Personage. Come on, Essan...

  ..You know that is NOT the gospel.

  The twisting of written text appeared after the canon was compiled, paucity of koine Greek into English is to blame for much... and you are left with roughly 25 texts (I have offered to list them) that could possible read both ways.

  The overwhelming share of the Scriptures speak of Almighty God and the "Sent forth one" as separate beings.

  I offer you the poignant words of Paul in Galatians 1:8 again...
