I have a celtic band around my right bicep (I am very muscular) and it suits my arm... and I have a celtic initial on my right shoulder blade.. the first letter of my first name. Tatts can be very tasteful.. but rarely on women, I find.

do you have any?.
i know a lot of women, not just younger women, that have tats.
i wouldn't have one but that's because i don't need the pain..

i got baptised about 25 years ago and was told the new system would be here by now.. along with a lot of other false promises.. so the answer for me would be no!!
!.
YES.. I agree with Truthlover. Although only 15, I made a contract which I understood. But, THEY have changed the wording of the baptismal vows, not me. So, THEY, have invalidated any contract with them. I choose to be an eternal romantic, and my baptism was a symbol of my First Love.
I am not affiliated to any Religious Group.
By the way, whilst we are on the subject, has anyone ever started a thread on early Christian baptism? It would appear from my research, that though the command was given to baptise in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit... the early records show the Apostles and Disciples baptising in the name of Jesus only. Why?

hey folks.
this is my first post, and i figured i might as well tell my story and state why i'm here.. i'm the offspring of a elder and ex-pioneer.
being so raised, i was very serious about the truth as a youngster.
That's just what I wanted to hear, JKL. Be your own man... All the best, buddy.

i guess i should have said, "how does a man move up" since they're a male-only ruling class.... what does it take to become an elder, and so on up?
i don't really think the mr. is in the running for any special titles, but just in case in the future something along these lines happens, how does the hierarchy work?
(probably not a true consideration, being that he's married to me, but hey, i'm sure stranger things have happened).. .
WT is as elitist as any other worldly corporation. If you pull all the right strings, and brown nose the right people, you will progress in the chain of power and command. I can agree with all the comments here.
I was "groomed" by a very "Spiritual" Circuit Overseer, wonderful man and wife team who taught all the right reasons for taking on theocratic responsibilities. I was delighted to see him and his wife praised by many of the UK posters here.
Sadly, the reality at Bethel was a real shock.. I found myself in the middle of an Organisation Progrom, and stood up and spoke out for what I felt was right.
Please feel free to examine the bullet hole wound in my right temple.

witnessforJesus: Lozhasleft is right.. you are seeking to push your military, "one brain cell" thinking into this thread. One thing we all try to do is limit our thoughts to the matter at hand.
You should try 4 years at Bethel and tell me whether it is high control or not... you should sit in front of my computer, without hope of a pension, no retirement pot and working 6 days a week just to stand still. Tell me, if that is not the product of a high control group.
I have only expressed one fear for Justkeepliving, as he continues his life journey: Just maybe he is substituting one high control group for another (which will equally stiffle his personal growth)... check out the stats for failed marriages, alcoholism and joblessness after the average G.I/Squaddie leaves the Military. Many, unable to function without Mother, fall into despair.
I would encourage JKL to study for a Vocational Degree or qualification which he can carry THROUGH LIFE with him. I would urge any potential Pioneer to do the same. Don't become Bethel/Military Factory/Cannon fodder. That way, if Bethel/Military becomes a life long committment, You will have something to carry away with you... because, guess what.. the Mother Organisations don't give a d**n once you leave. You will be just another broken cog in a never ending wheel.
Please mull long and hard over these comments JKL. All the very, very best in your chosen Life Path.

JustKeepLiving: All the best buddy. We have an expression here in the United Kingdom: "He is a square peg in a round hole". Nothing wrong with being a square peg!... but it just does not fit.
Don't get screwed up about it... move on. I know, you fear not pleasing those you hold dear. But if they love you "unconditionally" they will stand by you, if only in the hope of winning you back and trying to get you to fit in their "round" hole. If they don't, that is a poor reflection on them, not you.
Go with your guts.. but be prepared to reconsider, if your chosen path leads you to a dead end. Keep your options open.

how do you deal with the thought of god after leaving the wts ?.
i left two years ago, and i have always had a certain amount or "need" for a spiritual side of my life.. growing up catholic was good, when my parents became jw's suddenly everything/religion that was not bound together with the.
wt society and their teachings was completley wrong.. so now that i have left, i have a hard time trying to understand different religions.
Isn't kindness, a mark of Spirituality, streets? Again, you are confusing Spirituality and Religious god-slotting. Spirituality is an intrinsic part of being human... even if it is the brut force of the Alpha male dog, Designs. Being at peace with your Id is as important as feeding your physical self. Otherwise we would all be "sharks".. responding on impulse only.. constant, uncontrolled "knee-jerk" reactions.
Nah, spirituality is a constantly refining process... no fools errand

streets!: You forgot the intangible, electro-chemical stuff, that goes on in our brains - that is very spiritual and very human at the same time. Come on, half this board refers to JW's as mindless morons, members of the Borg (seems to be common parlance here). Surely you are not suggesting that MIB remains in that state, are you? Let MIB be his own man, in harmony with all that is right, and good and upbuilding.
