The Rise Of America's Lunatic Fringe
by metatron inhttp://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-01-30/rise-americas-lunatic-fringe.
every once in a while, you read an article that really puts it all together (or spot on, as some would say).
ever on the fringe,.

The conspiracy to invade Iraq on trumped up accusations may have cost the lives of many tens of thousands of innocent people, as well as wasted hundreds of billions that could have created jobs, fixed our infrastructure or provided healthcare for millions.
Is the US drifting towards becoming a police state? Are we losing our constitutional rights? Are we being driven towards a even more disastrous war with Iran? These are not minor concerns - andno, you aren't going to find "hard" laboratory-level, peer-reviewed evidence to support your concerns about these conspiracies. Why? because they're conspiracies, get the idea? When powerful people do bad things, they usually take care to conceal their efforts and lie to others about it.
Yes you are. There is evidence and logically gathered information about every bit of what is mentioned here.

So that means conspiracy theories can be true, no matter how implausible they may sound.
Can be true of course. No matter how implausible? Rarely. At some point evidence is going to begin to point one way or the other. It is embracing the theory to the point of ignoring logic or evidence that makes it lunatic fringe. Take the birthers. No matter how much evidence is shown, no matter how illogical the whole notion is to begin with, they can't let it go.

She was also correct. Which you should really know, being a smart guy.
One need only look at the history of FOX NEWS to realize this.

Pew Research poll results today. 53% of the US thinks the Feds are a threat to their personal freedom/rights.
It's moving from the fringe to the political center.
metatron
This doesn't really make sense. That 53% doesn't mistrust the same aspects of the Federal Government. In some cases, the lunatics are actually part of the Government, so to say that the populace doesn't trust them, is perfectly reasonable and mainstream.

The account of Ananias and Sapphira at Acts 5 categorically proves the Bible is not inerrant
by yadda yadda 2 ingo and read it again at acts 5: 11. ananias and sapphira drop dead at peter's feet for "playing false to god/holy spirit" by not giving all of the money to peter that they got from a field they sold.
ananias and sapphira were christians.
they wanted to help the poor and so sold one of their possessions, a field, and gave most of the money to peter.

Well it isn't you or I or anyone else that made me an atheist. I did not choose to be. I couldn't make myself an atheist. Knowledge and experience did.

Obama's speech writers used the strawman fallacies yesterday
by moshe inseems they liked using that fallacy a lot--.
president obama has an, at times, well-deserved reputation for delivering his speeches well.
certainly, the president made an impression today when he delivered his second inaugural address calling for a bolder, more expansive government that would be committed increasingly to the principles of liberalism, with characteristic soaring rhetoric.. unfortunately, another characteristic was also in evidence in obama's speech: namely, his tendency to argue against positions that nobody holds (and by extension, to mischaracterize his opponents' views so as to make them easier to argue against).

Point out the lie? - how about: I will close Gitmo on my very first day as president?
As usual, this is not quite accurate, nor is it quite a lie. But it is a broken promise. I certainly count it against him and his administration.
Although this has nothing to do with the OP.
