First of all this was not directed at you, as per the quote. Second, you continue to make clear your lack of understanding. It doeesn't matter what the textbook companies provide, because it is up to each individual State/District to choose what they will use. Stop with the hysteria and use your head.
Not to mention, do you think there is a possiblility that these texts may have included "errors" in previous publications? In other world pre Common Core?? Or didn't it worry/interest you then?

You Brits and Canuks have hit the Texas nail on the head.
You know what I saw down the street tonight (and I live in California, SF Bay Area even)? One of those hideously gauche inflatable snow men on someone's lawn. But that wasn't the worst of it. The dipshit householder had put an inflatable assault rifle in his hand. I have to drive by that crap twice a day.
How do these idiots reconcile the birth of Jesus, Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men, and that spectacle???

You say you don't want the federal government involved, but it was my understanding that each state had a choice of whether to implement or not. Is that not the case?
Not only that, each State/District chooses their own curriculum!!

nonjwspouse is approaching the entire subject from a sky is falling, conspiracy theory, misinformation angle. How can one even atempt to look at a subject, if they have already made up their mind that it is "Satan"?
As for not being able to "teach" thinking skills. Hogwash. It's just developing a talent. Like being spoon fed an interpretation of such and such a scripture a la the Truth Book, or probing for the possible meaning with an open mind.
