he worked as a auto mechanic making ok money.
They do sound a bit like they have an entitlement mentality. More so your mother. It sounds like she has been treated like a princess for too long.
If it gets down to the bottom of the barrel for them you could always send them in the direction of the local food bank or get them whatever government aid is available. It sounds harsh but I am in agreeement with you. Why should you bail out their lifestyle choices. Look after you and your own first.

Eventually they will run out of things to sell and reality will set in. They probably had a recent circuit overseer visit and he told them to simplify their life and it would go well for them. These clowns are good at messing with peoples lives because a lot of them have never had a real job or had real bills to pay.
A similar thing happened to my parents when they were in their 50's. They had a growing business happening and then some of the elders and the CO started giving them advice. They sold out some of their equity and pioneered and went on quick builds till they were too old.
The sad thing is that my dad is still working at 75 and trying to buy back what he sold when he was 50 and he and my mother are very frustrated at getting old in this system.
To all of you hoseheads south of the 49th. It is winter in the great white north and all the broadband cables have frozen up. Nothing can be streamed into the local kingdom hall until the permafrost thaws out next July. Besides, we're all too busy building our winter homes aka igloos.

i know the gb dont actually write the stuff but i was under the impression that they come up with the spiritual light pass if off to the writing committee and they put it in the publications.
It is just like in Jesus' day. There was the written word and there was the oral tradition. Same thing today. The oral tradition( no beards, 10 hours per month required, no coloured socks bla bla bla) carries an equal value to the written word but is easier to change if needed. Same shit, different pile. Religious leaders have been treating the average joe like garbage for thousands of years. Nothing really changes over time.

the divorces that i am familiar with in the congregation show me that having priveledges in the congregation do not improve the odds of a better marriage.
i would say about 60% of the divorces had at least one spouse who was a pioneer, elder or ministerial servant.

Apparently, I'm a "unique case" and they are going to talk to the other elders and CO. They want to meet with me and might be sending me a letter requesting a meeting but said that I should not be worried about getting disfellowshipped.
And pigs can fly. Anytime you meet with elders you should be worried about getting disfellowshipped.

About 10 or 15 years ago members of the governing body were no longer officers of the watchtower corporations. This was done in anticipation of a day like this so they could weasel their way out of any legal problems.
