I see that Jehovah forgives you but only if you haven't been reproved or dfd in the last five years. -

Apathy carts - Apathy D-2-D
by Zoos ini think it was punkofnice who came up with the phrase, "apathy carts".
how apropos.. yesterday i encountered a car group of witnesses in my community as i was coming home from the gym.
actually, their van was blocking me from entering my driveway.

How Many JWs Really Believe Everything They Are Told?
by minimus ini think that 80% of jws do not truly believe in what they are taught .
the vast majority stay in because of family, friends, ignorance and a lack of caring about any of the facts regarding the "truth".
many people are lazy.

I think the elite in the org don't believe 100%. How can you be a multimillioniare building houses and businesses, on vacation for a quarter of the year and serve as an elder going on the stage telling the sheeples to simplify their life. -

The money question...
by Tornintwo ini am intrigued to know if there is truly any evidence of financial irregularities in the jehovah's witness organisation or if any one or group are raking off funds or benefitting financially...?.
whilst i disagree wholeheartedly with most of their teachings and practices, dogmatism, legalism and superiority complex, i don't honestly think there's anyone making millions at the top.
yes you could say that the gb are comfortably off, don't have to pay bills etc but they do actually get up in the morning and 'work', they aren't going off in private jets to tropical islands or driving bentleys.

There definitely are people who make money off the jw system. Those who sell overpriced furniture and sound systems to the local congregation. -

WT March 15, 2016 - Kids pressured toward baptism again
by Designer Stubble inthe study wt of march 2016 is up on jw.org and is the standard article around this time of year...pressuring young kids to dedicate their lives to the organization again.
this wt will be studied during may, so just in time to pressure them into baptism at the regional conventions this summer.such articles really upset me, as the realization of how many young promising lives will be destroyed.
how many families will be broken up, when the child who got baptized as a minor (ages 6 and up are mentioned in the literature) decides as a young adult that his/her conscience no longer allows him/her to be part of such a destructive cult.

It looks like it is teenagers doing teenager things. Looks like one dfing that I know of. I didn't ask around for details but it was mentioned by the elders during the meeting this morning. -

Decrease of numbers in Jehovah's Witnesses via Deaths, DFings, or Turning Inactive
by flipper inso i'm sure a good number of us saw the chart that i believe the poster splash put on another thread of figures since 1990 regarding how many baptized and % of increase each year .
i started analyzing it ( and i know some referred to it briefly on the other thread ) and guessing of reasons the % of increase didn't match the number of newly baptized.
and of course common sense tells us that either jw's leave the cult each year through death, fading into inactivity, or getting dfed.

I personally think the numbers are severely fudged. Where I live a dozen or so congregations have folded and we have amalgamated with another circuit.
20 years ago we had 1000 at our circuit assembly. Now with the amalgamation we have 1100. It's in decline and they won't admit it.

Gas prices today & the book study
by LevelThePlayingField inwe all remember, one of the main reasons for removing the bookstudy was the high gas prices, well, have you looked at the gas prices today?
nationwide, the lowest is about $1.65, the highest is about $2.67.
isn't that right about the same gas prices as when they cancelled the bookstudy in the first place?

It was a poorly supported meeting and it was hard to find someone who would have it in their home.
