  WT “Study” for 11th Sept 2016 – “Why Must We ‘Keep on the Watch’”?

  i was really puzzled when i opened this edition of the wt magazine at the above “study”.

  what on earth has this picture at the top of page 13 got to do with christian watchfulness?

  i wasn’t making a connection at all.

  The pioneers can start their "time" at 6:00am on their iPad. Snooze in bed for another hour, have breakfast and get ready for the arrangement By noon they could have clocked in 6 hours.

  at the la vega kingdom hall, which is around 35 miles north west of bogota, columbia.. with a population of just under 50 million, there are some 165,000 active jws in the country - a ratio of around 1-in-300.. they conduct around 220,000 studies each month, and with just under 24,000 regular pioneers, the country saw a 2% increase last year.. last year's memorial attendance was over half-a-million, which means 1-in-100, or 1%, of the country attended.. street view of the outside of the kingdom hall: .

  The elusive song 151 makes an appearance.

  the missing song 151 now titled "the revealing of god's sons" shows up with the september edition of tv.jw.

  no words or score on the jw page yet.

  can't say that it sounds any different than any of the other songs they produce now.

  My old congregation is gone

  went to the hall today as i was the designated driver for my parents.

  an elder who was in our old congregation in the city gave the talk.

  i've had a little chat with him and apparently our old congo is gone.

  The last hall I went to they had the congregation scrape together enough funds to renovate the hall and then within the year closed the congregation and sold the hall out from under us.

  Worshiping a piece of stone

  today one of the members of the local congregation who is somewhat limited intellectually was showing off a small bit of cut granite stone.

  as he did so he made sure to let everyone know that it was given to him by the congregation service overseer who just completed his second or third round of bragging rights slave labor at warwick.

  he mentioned that, "brother _______ gave this to me as a piece of reality from warwick.

  i’m sitting there in the kingdom hall just thinking how rich it is of the gbojw to preach about materialism when they have recently been evidenced to be using bro’s & sis’ contributions to the world wide work to travel business class!

  just that thought alone was leading me to read scripture while they were all engaged in the wt “study”.. however, then it came to paragraph 17 and i blurted / choked a little.

  the paragraph said that “we should not imitate the people of ‘the nations,’ who have no real faith in a loving heavenly father who cares for those who put the interests of his kingdom first in their life.”.

  I'm not going to the meeting today. I'm working at an evil secular job. I work way too many hours and need to cut back. It's not healthy anymore.

  The magazine article being studied today is meant to keep the sheeples in line . As soon as you have a measure of financial security many options are available to you. The watchtower doesn't want the competition. Poor people are easier to control.
