There is a handbook published by Jws on how to lie in court over custody battles. Your lawyer should have a copy

Odd choice of words
by Nevuela inwhy is it that when a jw gives someone a magazine, they use the word "place" instead of "give"?
as in "i placed a magazine with him".
and why do regular door-to-door jws of no special rank refer to themselves as publishers?
-

The reason Jws use terms like householder, placed, publisher and many more is because that is the language used in the late 19th century when the religion was founded.

Anyone else hear of this?
by Tahoe ina jw family member informed me they are filling out an application to preach the truth in israel.
interested ones in the congregation were asked to start saving now, as the cost of the flights would be their own responsibility.
the time frame for this preaching work is for a couple of weeks in may/june 2017. the applications are to be turned in this sunday.

They read a letter this weeks clam meeting.
It is an opportunity to show just how "spiritual" you really are.
They had a similar campaign recently.
I never went because I'm not very "spiritual"

Canada Bethel (Georgetown) to begin renovations early 2017
by Richard_I ina letter was just read at my midweek meeting that georgetown (canada bethel) will have renovations done on it beginning spring 2017. the letter asked for publishers who are electricians/plumbers/etc.
and in good standing to apply to help out.
those helping out will be considered "part-time commuters" and will only be at the property for about 3 days a week and must reside outside of bethel and pay for all their own expenses.

I thought it strange that they read the letter in the western provinces. I wouldn't think that many would be in a position to go on their own dime to southern Ontario to work 3 days a week.
I don't have to worry about being drafted as a volunteer. I have no trade and I am not in good standing in the congregation.

Millionaire JW Elder hypocrite?!
by Alostpuppydog inso i know one should remove his own stick from his own eye before ones self judges another, but i noticed something.
it seems that the wealthy witnesses are the elders, the circuit overseers, the governing body... are they really different from any other 'worldly' religions or even organizations?
i mean look at the jewels the friggen pope wears.

I don't have a problem with rich people in "the truth". Some people think I'm rich. I just work more hours than the average. So I make more money and I spend less because I work so much.
The problem I have with weathy elders is when they criticize fellow witnesses for getting an education or buying a house or working shift work / overtime to make a living. That is what pisses me off.

Worship of Men and Emphasis on Titles
by HereIgo ini remember a few years back at a circuit assembly, a few bros were introducing themselves to the co, they made sure to mention that they were an ms or an elder from such and such cong.
i was also an ms, but was the only one that introduced themselves by just my first name.
i was so irritated and blown away at the arrogance by these bros, trying to impress men with titles!

people introduce themselves to me as " I'm so and so and I'm a regular pioneer/elder/ex missionary"
I guess it's really that important to them.

It might be game over for you. Jws have been conditioned to be loyal to the watchtower corporation , not to their spouses, family or friends. It is like a compulsion to them.
If confronted in a jc just deny ever saying it. If she calls up the elders on it your marriage is probably over anyway.

Blood is thicker than water??
by HereIgo ini remember a co saying from the platform, " people often say blood is thicker than water.
well not in jehovah's organization" i don't know about anyone else, but it sure rubbed me the wrong way and one of the million reasons why i left!.

Of course it isn't in the "truth". Family means nothing in the jw org
