  More money for the dubs

  What Were You or Someone You Knew Counseled For That Was Ridiculous?

  back in the day, tons of witnesses were brought in the “back room “ to be counseled by elders because of their dress and grooming.

  some elders frowned on mustaches or hair that went past a certain point on a male.

  women were regularly harassed because their skirt was too long or too short or had a slit on the side.

  We are not in the gossip loop. One of the young sisters in the hall had a boyfriend from out of town. He was a real nice young guy had a good job attended the meetings and commented regularly. I even worked with him in service a few times. They got engaged and Mrs Hoser made the mistake of congratulating the couple at the Kingdom Hall. Turns out unbeknownst to us he wasn’t baptized. The shit really hit the fan. I got dragged in the back room with mrs hoser. We tried to explain no one told us his status but the elders wouldn’t let off on their tirade. They literally went ballistic on my wife.

  since i think watchtower will be an online/tv cult, the members would show their spirituality by how much money they give.

  also to use the jw tv you have pay your monthly dues for access.

  and you can purchase jw merchandise and gee-hober bucks!

  I don’t think Jehovah’s witnesses in general have a lot of money. Yes, there are those select few well to do witnesses but the average jw is not flush with cash.

  My observation is a downhill spiral. When each congregation owned their Kingdom Hall they would work together to keep it in shape and well maintained. It was a source of pride and publishers would scrape together whatever they had to keep their local hall.

  Now that Kingdom Halls became corporate there is no local incentive to pay the bills. Someone else’s problem.

  I think if they expect online donations to watch Caleb videos they are sadly mistaken.

  pastor russell: follow the money.

  charles t. russell, age of 13, joined the congregational church (dumped presbyterian).. he went (like girl scouts are sent out with cookies to sell) door to door to raise money for the church.. russell hated fundraising.

  he had to ask poor people to part with their money.
