here in the uk we've recently had the price cap on household energy bills raised by around £800 and there'll be another similar raise this autumn.. food prices are up, petrol is around £1.82 per litre - that's $10.37 per gallon for our american friends - and inflation is currently running at 9%.

business are being hit as ordinary folk prioritise their spending.

young folks are effectively priced out of the housing market and wage rises are not keeping pace.. mrs nic' and i are fortunate in that we're both in secure employment and with the kids moved out and mortgage paid off our outgoings are thankfully low.

Price controls don’t work. Businesses won’t produce at a loss. The cure for high prices are high prices. Investors won’t build apartment buildings if they can never raise the rent to cover their increased costs over time. Energy companies won’t expand supply if the government caps the rates they can charge the consumer.

We’re doing ok. We’re locked in for 5 years on our mortgage and energy. The company I work for pays my gas and Mrs hoser takes public transit to work.

i can see it that watchtower will become an online/tv based group with just con-vention hall$.. field service would be letter writing and phone preaching, door to door is done.. watchtower will have pay to view programs and still ask for donations after all that.. zoom meetings are here to stay.

kingdumb halls will be sold off except for con-vention venues, or need for new ones$.. df'ing will continue.

the craziness will continue.

All I know is with gas prices going to be 6 dollars a gallon it does not Bode well for those now driving 30 miles to the k.h.

I will give you an example. There was a Kingdom Hall my dad helped build in Eureka Kansas that Watchtower sold to the Masonic Lodge a few years ago. Whatever is left of that congregation now has to drive a minimum of 45 minutes to the nearest Kingdom Hall in El Dorado Kansas. Watchtower used to do well in small communities, but that is no longer the case and low population counties like that can't afford to drive multiple times per week to meetings.

It’s nothing to do with the publishers driving and everything to do with real estate resale values. Other than the value of the land it costs exactly the same to build in small town as up and coming suburbia. Buildings are easier to sell in larger centres as well. It’s a real estate company pretending to be a religion sans capital gains taxes.

Kinda looks like these guys got thrown under the bus by the watchtower corp. They were probably told verbally not to report and when the shit hits the fan the watchtower pulls out this article saying that they are supposed to report.

One of my relatives vehemently denies that the watchtower society said anything about 1975. They claims it’s all made up by disgruntled witnesses that didn’t want to preach anymore.

My parents spent A LOT of money on this religion. Just the gas bill and keeping vehicles on the road cost them a fortune. They donated for and helped build a Kingdom Hall in the early 1980s. They helped maintain this hall over the past 40 years just to have it sold out from under them by Watchtower Inc. recently.

My parents read this kingdom ministry in 1974. They attended that meeting when this was discussed. I attended that meeting. Although they didn’t sell their house in 1975 they gave way too much to this religion over the last 45 years.
