  Which of you readers are being shunned by their relatives / friends ?

  a simple " me" if you dont want to say more--or a short explanation about who is shunning you and how long has this been going on.. i'll set the ball rolling: my daughter--her husband and children; my younger son --no contact from them for 40 years...because i left their religion.. (edit--i just noticed the typo in the header--if should be of ).

  I’m soft shunned. We were well liked in the congregation until about 12 years ago when there was an incident with one of our children. We attended on zoom with no camera during the plandemic and it seemed to get worse.

  We’ve been going to the meetings since they re started and the congregation acts very cold to us. I find the concept of ostracism interesting as it is also practised in other social groups other than Jws.

  Knowing what I know about the subject and the fact we have good social connections outside of the Borg I have the ability to make jws feel very uncomfortable

  it's the republican way.

  florida needs the rest of the country to pitch in taxpayer dollars because it's different when it happens to me.

  The rural/urban divide is evident in Canada as well. It is an interesting phenomenon. Rural vote conservative and urban vote liberal/NDP.

  Geography dictates culture and politics. A Canadian from Saskatchewan has more in common with an American from Nebraska than a fellow Canadian from Toronto or Vancouver.

  Conservatives do like their handouts though. Conservative businessmen like to point to welfare cheats that are on social assistance as being the problem but they are the first with their hand out when there is a disaster that affects their business.

  Germany gets what they deserve although it is always the poor that pay the highest price for others incompetent decisions. Hopefully a cold winter will wake people up to the stupid policies of their leaders and vote some competent leaders in. Wind and solar are not reliable energy sources. Don’t deal with a sole supplier when it comes to your energy supply. On the other side of the world we have Justine who won’t sell our allies in Europe a gallon of oil at the top of the market even if we had the infrastructure in place to do so.

  (in the what's new section) apparently jehovah is still failing to provide the necessary funds so have to beg and petition men for support even though we said we'd never do that!.

  new angle, if you want to make friends with jehovah and jesus we need more of your unrighteous riches .

  congregations closing their doors doesn’t mean business is good.

  it looks like this last one to fold had no young witnesses, they either left the religion or moved.

  What usually happens in these situations is that the publishers move closer to the congregation or they just fade away.

  whenever you think of your time in the organisation you'll remember all of the books.

  every year at a convention, new books brought out.

  shelves at home groaning under the weight of multicoloured covered wts books!

  I remember calling on this lady in service that told me they were really poor in the 1950’s and jws would come around driving a Cadillac selling books. She didn’t want them but her husband would buy and they really couldn’t afford the jw literature. 40 years later she was still very bitter about jws. She mentioned the name of the jws that were preaching with the caddy. I knew the family. Loud show offs in the congregation. Well connected multi generational jws.

  question for those who either aux pioneered pioneered

  how many of you would have spent the hours "pioneering" if it weren't for the pats on the back and being looked up to as someone special in the congregation?

  i will admit that back in late 1970's i attempted to aux pioneer during a campaign because it was promoted and seemed the right thing to do,but i didn't get the hours and it was stressful trying to...and i didn't feel like a cheerful giver.

  i never attempted it again.

  yes, that is an actual question in the awake magazine.

  jw kids lives are already miserable enough trying to obey all the ignorant rules of the wt.. no sports, no school dance, no holidays.... just field service.

  as if that isn't enough.... let's take away their puppy dogs too!.

  Dogs eat dog food. They need to visit the vet. They need about an hour a day to walk that you could be recruiting new members. You could donate that dog food money and your ice cream money to the governing body whiskey fund.

  How would you get a hold of your own Introduction Letter

  i'm sure there is some unflattering things mentioned in my family 's introduction letter.

  how would one get a copy of it?
