I read prov 27:11 in context and I got something new out of it. The WTS says that it is Jehovah speaking to us to answer a reply to Satan.
When I read the whole chapter It sounded more like an earthly father saying to his kid: "don't do anything stupid that's gonna embarrass me later"
Also if indeed it refers to Jehovah why are there no quotation marks to refer to a third party speaking as other places in the bible where Jehovah speaks they always have """ to show that Jah is speaking. Matthew 3:17
Does the WTS use this scripture out of context to control the masses? they sure use it a lot.

Why are the books of king Salamon still considered by JW's as inspired by god?
by dutchstef injust think about it...... if possible the wts tries to delete publications and songs written by former members of the slave as much as possible.. but king salomo also became involved with other religions at the and of his live....and it's one of the most quoted persons in the watchtower and other wts publications..

For the kids being counseled by the elders about debasing music open the bible and read from the Song of Solomon.
If music was put to that book the elders would ban it!
Solomon was a dirty old man.

JW Tall Tales
by lancelink inrecently i was cleaning my bookcase and found an old book that i enjoyed as a child.
it had stories in it such as paul bunyan, pecos bill, and john henry.
while these stories are fictional, i enjoyed them because they were entertaining, and easy to understand.. fast forward to the late 70's when i was a teenager sitting at the ca hall in janesville wisconsin.. the speaker was explaining the great sacrifice god made in sending his son down to earth to die for all mankind.

The game Mario Brothers was invented by a regular pioneer in Chicago. Mario and Luigi were two fleshly brothers in the Italian congregation in Chicago who happened to own a plumbing business.
The story goes that this pioneer invents the game and wind of it gets to Nintendo before he gets to the patent office and they steal the idea for the game from him and the rest is history.

A new in the truth family comes home from the meeting on a thursday night. The father puts his bible and books down on the table and says "We found the truth now lets see what Satan can do"
Immediately, the windows start shaking and rattling and they go to check on their son and daughter. As they open the door to their daughters room they find her pantyhose around her neck and she is being choked by a demonic force.
They start praying out loud to Jehovah and all goes calm and the girl is OK

The rumor of the pioneer hours decreasing is interesting. I heard it from a distant relative regular pioneer a few years ago. What it shows to me is that what you all doing here is getting into the mainstream JW's somehow. I didn't question where he got the info from. could be a lurker here or a poster. It proves to me that there is a strong undercurrent in the faith, Just everyone is afraid to come clean as to their true beliefs.

Handbill for 2010 District Conventions
by dozy inthe wts has announced the usual handbill invitation "campaign" for the conventions this year.
i haven't seen a copy but i assume that it will be similar to the one for congregation meetings and from previous years.
the usual 30 per publisher allocation.. i seriously wonder about the efficacy of these campaigns.

The handbill distribution stirs up the competition between congregations as to who gets their territory finished first. If one cong gets done before the alloted time then they go over to help the other cong in our hall do their territory. No one wants to be showed up to be a slacker congregation so everyone gets at it to get the job done first.
The money aspect of the cam-pain makes a lot of cents. or dollars. the WTS really seems to be watching their bottom line these days. Someone at the top must be grieving the spirit cause it appears Jehooba isn't blessing the work as he should/could

Consolation on Demand
by chasson ini have a lot of consolation magazines that i could scan.. if you want a particular issue for research, tell me and i will scan it, and you can tell to the board more what are your research, so everybody will have more insight.. .
here is one of this magazine concerning the madison square garden incident.
this incident is connected with the olyn moyle's trial and it is interessant to see the vision of rutherford concerning this.. he tried in this magazine to excuse the usher, because what he said on stage was "the word of jehovah", so nobody must stop the "spreading of the word of god".
