i had a call with a good buddy......still an elder the other night.. when i mentioned generations/overlapping.......he had no clue what i was talking about.
such a good man.......... but it doesn't matter.....they don't even realize what is being said to them; what is being done to them.
a high stature elder in their organization....and he had no clue there was another change..... how the hell does this happen?.
I had a similar conversation with the CO the week after the District Convention. I was talking up the second talk on friday the one about how we know the kingdom is near. It dealt with the overlapping generation extensivly. He didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about.
I was wondering if I heard it wrong or he just didn't pay attention to the part. I don't want to go up against a Circuit overseer in a battle of wit.
I wouldn't want to humiliate him too bad.

our dc coming up this weekend, i hated them and the only thing that kept me going ,was the reward of booze at the end of each day.my then wife,zelous judgemental pioneer, you know the type,not only droned on about my drinking, but about everyones drinking, a real barrel of laughs not.
anyway, one year we went to another dc, in newcastle, all seemed to be going well, until lunch.we went over to a hotel for lunch,i ordered my fresh orange and food, a few minutes later, the local jw,s arrived for lunch, they had all pr-ordered drinks,alcoholic drinks, and not one drink but many !!!
they were buisy getting boozed up for the afternoon session,way to go, i was about to join them, when my wife told me " dont even think about it ", anyway she was outraged, but there they were ,with thier little convention badges, men and women, young and old, getting merry, they dont even do that here in scotland, !!!.
some of my friends brought in a cooler full of beer and sat at the very top row of the stadium and got tanked up. they poured it into travel mugs and no one was the wiser except for bud.
they all faded shortly after that.

the july 15 watchtower (pg 17) asserts that the world is filled with an attitude of 'anything goes' - right or wrong - it depends on your feelings.. this is, ironically, (and hypocritically) a 'false story' created by the watchtower.
once again, they are lying to support their own greediness to maintain control over naive witnesses who believe this nonsense.. we have a name for people who truly believe that 'anything goes - right or wrong' - they are called sociopaths or psychopaths.
it is entirely fair to say that the us public doesn't like them or think well of them.
the average ethiopian makes 700 euros a YEAR.....Why not fund a house filled with 51 brothers who go out preaching?(36k E /700). Wouldnt that truly be a blessing brothers? LOL Just think how rich the watchtower would be if everyone made 10$ an hour for the preaching work lol.

have had bouts of depression.. have a fear of being wrong.. the above are based upon people in the kh.

i am in the process of getting a small business/hobby going and am almost finished.
intially from startup i included an inlaw in the process and needless to say things have been "rocky".
i have pretty much funded this entire thing, spent untold hours coding, getting artistic renditions for logos, working with suppliers, contracting out work, etc.
Sounds to me like a typical partnership. One partner does all the work while the other partner sits on their lazy ass expecting 50% of the profits. I agree with the last couple of posters. Hire a stranger to do the job and let your inlaw figure out that he's not needed any more. But one word of caution, pay him out as soon as you can before the business grows big or it will cost you a big pile of money later on.
I'll always remember the business advice my Father in law gave me:
Never go in business with your family, your friends, or a Jehovahs Witness!

in 2010 we had the new light on the overlapping generations...now there seems to be a new twist.
I picked up something and I don't know if I heard it right. I thought our speaker said that the first group would have to not only be alive before 1914 but be spirit annointed before 1914. He said the same applied to the overlapping generation not only would their lives have to overlap the first generation but Their annointing would have to overlap the first generation.
The first generation of annointed (those who were annointed before 1914) are all dead. I don't belive there are any 120 year olds hanging around in any bethel closets anywhere.
So one can assume:
There will be no new annointed ones based on this doctrine of overlap. The second group, the overlappers would have to be annointed before the last of the 1914 generation had died, probably about 10 years ago.
Therefore one can conclude that any new partakers are fakes or mentally unstable.
The problem of the increasing partakers has been solved

i was inspired by a recent thread i know i aint gunna crumble the wt, but a girl can dream to look at the effect we as individuals are having on the watchtower society.. 3dogs1husband quoted a story to show that even helping only one person is worth it.. it is encouraging to note that the one person you may have helped has lead to millions being helped, due to the power of compounding growth.. compounding growth is well illustrated by the rice on a chessboard problem.
if you start with 1 grain of rice on square one, and double it to 2 on the second, 4 on the third, 8 on the fourth, by the last (64th) square there would be 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 grains of rice.. likewise, if you help one person out of the grip of the watchtower this year, then next year you help one more and they help one, in a few years that is going to have a formidable result on the number of jehovahs witnesses.
look at the following statistics.
One population statistic worth mentioning IMHO is the baby boomer generation. They are the ones born from 1946 to the mid sixties and are a huge segment of the population. I'm just wondering if the huge growth of the WT in the 60's and 70's had anything to do with the boomers coming of age and the lack of growth today because of gen x and gen y.
I do notice a lot of grey hair in the KH lately.
