  New songs unexpectedly released . . .

  earlier this year it was announced to all congregations that the new silver songbook would ultimately be made of 150 songs, (matching the number of psalms in the bible).

  however, they've apparently changed there minds in the last few months, because songs 152-154 were just posted to both jw-org and jw broadcasting.. https://www.jw.org/en/whats-new/.

  For those who are still in... What do you do about field service?

  for those of you who are still in because of family circumstances, what do you do about field service?

  do you still go regularly, sporadically or not at all?.

  if you do still go, how do you manage?

  Maybe your mother in law wants to get you alone in service to flush out your doubts.

  Just a thought

  I started faking about 7 or 8 years ago just a little before I started posting here. We lived in a rural area and I would take out a territory, go home and mark it worked for the tract campaign and count 3 or 4 hours.

  The last year has been sporadic but no one seems to care. I go once in a while and when the group overseer asks for a report I give him one whether I've been out that month or not.

  When i do go out I do my best to give a bad presentation. At some point I hope to stop going

  unbelievable paragraph in yesterday's watchtower was "encouraging" the sheep to not have kids.

  most of their growth comes from the born ins and they are still on about not having kids?.

  then it went on to "encourage" those that do have kids or grandkids not to spend to much time with them and instead to spend their time serving kingdom interests!.

  Witness Carts - A Vehicle for Significant Decline

  i was stalking to a jw today about her recent experience on the carts and with being a jw generally.

  until this conversation i considered the carts as just an ineffective preaching method and a harmless waste of time.

  but now i wonder if the effect of the carts might be to produce noticeable decline in jw numbers.

  Like Freddo said. Cart witnessing creates class distinctions among the Jws. Metropolitan witnessing is for kingdom evangelizer grads, cart witnessing is for pioneers and well spoken of publishers. Door to door is reserved for slackers and undercover apostates.

  When they call me at home, I don't answer (this is one reason I continue to have a land line). Of course, I am rarely home during my off time anyways so that's kind of a no-brainer. I was up front with my last manager and former team lead. I told them straight... if you want me off hours, you pay me to carry a pager, otherwise, I'm unavailable and you will not get me.

  
  

  Good strategy. If they have you on call they should give you some kind of remuneration.

  just wonder since that video about a child giving up his dreams of being a great musician do to competition .

  i had to give up all my dreams and now work in a very competitive industry just to get by.

  how many people not work in a competitive job?

  companies that require unpaid overtime from their employees are just thieves. Sucking up the lives of their employees.

  What I do is sometimes intense and requires lots of ot in our busy season but I am paid for it. I am on an hourly wage not a salary. It is regular pay for 40 hours per week and 1 1/2 times regular pay for anything above that.

  I see this as being a good year for the Jws (other than in Russia) The regional convention bunker videos combined with persecution in Russia will scare the sheeples into compliance.

  I guess I'm not the only one putting in big hours. I did 350 hours in the month of April. A little too much IMO. My main employee refuses to work more than 50 hrs per week. I respect him for that. He is not a jw. I ended up picking up the slack to get the work done.
