I rarely go to the mid week meeting anymore. The new format is boring as hell and I work a lot of overtime

No Reason For JWs To Go To The MIdweek Meeting (CLAM)
by JW_Rogue ineverything that is done at the midweek meeting can now be done at home.
the videos are online, the first talk is scripted, the bible highlights are scripted.
you could get the same experience by just reading and watching the material from your tablet.

They did a good job of getting the audience all emotional and teary eyed with the video Hope for what we do not see.
Pretty much same old same old today though
dont marry out of "the truth"

The speaker doing the shunning part made sure to pause before and after saying this includes inactive ones who haven't been through the judicial process.

Bet everyone on Sunday afternoon says this is the best convention ever. By Tuesday night they have forgotten what the theme was.

I Didn't Belong
by Nihilistic Journey ini remember an art project when i was six years old.
the teacher handed out felt pine trees that we glued to burlap sheets.
everyone then attached little pieces of colorful material to the felt trees.

Can awake jw find a way of getting to know each other in real life
by Consciousguy inhi new to this forum but not so new to ttatt.
i was just wondering how nice it would be to know each other in real life.

I've played the sleuth on this site and found some ttats nearby to where I live and I've also reconnected with some old friends that have faded. I've also had some contact me by the same means.
Not everyone is willing to out themselves though. The watchtower fear of being outed runs deep

WTBTS / GBoJW elevating status of their literature
by Nicholaus Kopernicus inthe following is a brief examination of one disturbing paragraph in the august 2016 study watchtower - "do you see the need to make spiritual progress?"11.
what spiritual qualities can we work to develop, and why are they important?
11 develop spiritual qualities.

These watchtower articles use the fog . Fear, obligation, guilt.
As if I owe them anything.
I haven't been on their radar lately for pressuring to reach out.
I must be considered a lost cause in their eyes.
I miss at least half the meetings. I only report field service half the months. I don't give parts at the service meeting. I rarely comment.
Life is good. The fade goes on.

New songs unexpectedly released . . .
by neat blue dog inearlier this year it was announced to all congregations that the new silver songbook would ultimately be made of 150 songs, (matching the number of psalms in the bible).
however, they've apparently changed there minds in the last few months, because songs 152-154 were just posted to both jw-org and jw broadcasting.. https://www.jw.org/en/whats-new/.

For those who are still in... What do you do about field service?
by Wait For It infor those of you who are still in because of family circumstances, what do you do about field service?
do you still go regularly, sporadically or not at all?.
if you do still go, how do you manage?

Maybe your mother in law wants to get you alone in service to flush out your doubts.
Just a thought
I started faking about 7 or 8 years ago just a little before I started posting here. We lived in a rural area and I would take out a territory, go home and mark it worked for the tract campaign and count 3 or 4 hours.
The last year has been sporadic but no one seems to care. I go once in a while and when the group overseer asks for a report I give him one whether I've been out that month or not.
When i do go out I do my best to give a bad presentation. At some point I hope to stop going
