I'm glad I got out of the accounts servant job a number of years ago. Just more meaningless work. -

I was at one congregation where a hard assed ex CO moved in as an elder. He locked the second school so that the people that regularly sat there had to sit in the main auditorium. It backfired on him because some who sat in the back room just stopped attending the meetings .
I like moving around a lot from meeting to meeting. It pisses off a lot of people when you are sitting in their spot and I find that amusing.

It is short term thinking to sell off your assets (house) and go back to manual labour.
What will you do when you are too old to work and too poor to pay rent?

Expanding number of DC/RC's
by DwainBowman inaccording to my elder in law, by next year the number of dc/rc's will increase by 143. the size of conventions will get smaller.
the elder in law says the goal is to make them all have around 2,000 or so at each.
they are going to make more manuals detailing each job and it's responsibilities.

Musicians Who Died in the Last Year - or Through the Years- Who Do you Miss Most ?
by flipper ini think for me in the last year the death of david bowie got to me the most.
not only in the way he handled his demise so classy by even making a song about it and a you tube about dying and sharing it with fans, but just his whole persona i always thought was pretty cool.
plus i enjoyed a good many of his songs.

Scotty Moore died a couple of days ago. He was Elvis' first lead guitar player. Guys like him started this whole rock and roll business in the 50's

by sp74bb insome internal sources in jw.org has brought me attention to the following data:.
- in which european country, not member of the eu, and well known for their banking industry, jw.org and some affiliated structures do maintain some business incorporated structures and companies?.
- which is the purpose of these business and company structures?.

Mark Sanderson Talk re Belgium visit
by Listener inthe degradation of the governing body members continues on.
mark sanderson gives a talk regarding his visit to belgium for the memorial this year and was travelling from korea to munich to brussels, belgium on the day of the belgium terrorist attacks.he cannot wipe the smirk on his face as he relates his experience, with no regard whatsoever of all those unfortunately affected by the attacks.
in fact, he personally found god's hand affecting him personally, allowing him to attend the memorial as planned and a kh dedication.he is that privileged during his flight travels that internet was available to him, enabling him to catch up on current news and to contact branch's.

No! No! No! This can't be true? brexit? No!
by purrpurr init seems britain has voted to leave the eu in a move of total madness!
the markets are already in free fall and the moronic bigots who campaigned for this are celebrating the demise of our country .. i can't see how a 49-51% split can be democratic?
there is still the postal vote to come in, maybe there's hope in that?

The up side for me is that with a devalued pound I can probably afford to take a trip to England now. -

Being Bad in the Kingdom Hall
by Funchback inwhat things did (do) you or someone you know do in the kingdom hall that was a no-no?.
i remember in the 80s when, during the meeting, three friends and i were breakdancing in the foyer.
3 out of 4 us are happily out of that organization.. as i was trudging through my fade and attending meetings, i sometimes dwelled on how much time and money i wasted during my years as a jw.

When I was a teenager some kids I knew from another hall brought a small cooler full of beer to the district convention.

Can you relate?
by TimeBandit ini used to try really hard to fit in when i was an active, true blue jw.
somehow it hardly ever paid off.
time after time i attempted to mingle and make jw friends.
