It’s too bad the disfellowshipped still believe in the religion. If they could only take a step back and see the big picture.

Covid Virus and serving where the need is greater
by eyeslice ini get the impression that many of those serving where 'the need is greater' have had to return to their home countries due to the current covid pandemic.. just over a year back the society was pushing people to go to places like india; not the easiest places to get to grips with at the best of times.
now i see that the covid pandemic is pretty much out of control in india.
it seems to me that 'needs greaters' were the watchtowers way of getting missionaries on the cheap.

Being a need greater is all they have. They can’t be proud of secular accomplishments. That would make a person materialistic and considered bad association.
In addition to long hair girls comment I have seen many sell assets too early in life and end up wanting.

The choice of being alone has never been clearer.
by pistolpete insomething i've noticed is that marriage was the thing for those born before 2010. but today's culture of divorce laws slanted to favor women has forced men to think carefully before signing the marriage certificate.
most of my friends have no intentions of getting married.
all of them have gotten vasectomies, so there is no chance of being blamed for a pregnancy.

I got lucky. Found the right woman early in life the first time. I think Facebook and dating apps messed up relationships. It gives the illusion of choice and people can’t stick it out because its easy to network with the opposite sex and find a new partner.

I’m with vidiot on this one. If the lowly publishers need to put their full confidence in Jehovah to provide, maybe the Ozzie branch isn’t praying enough.

This Discussion Board
by minimus inwhen you look back the last 20 years , what a transformation!
back then witnesses were putting out poetry and most were singing the praises of the organization.
slowly and gradually, negative thoughts were allowed to be expressed about doctrines, elders and congregation life.

My kid was going into a JC and I googled to find some info on his “sin” and ended up on this site.
That was in 2008 and I lurked for a couple years before I had the courage to post. I also found a fader who lived in my congregation territory on this site as well as the person that first introduced organization doubts to me back in the 80s.

Big Cull of Foreign Language Groups and Congregations
by eyeslice ini overheard mrs eyeslice listening to '2021 governing body update 3' yesterday.
apparently, they have started ditching foreign language groups and congregations as these weren't exactly roping anyone in.
of course there is a positive spin on all this - '4,000 plus elders freed up to serve in local language congregations' and of course there has been immensely positive feedback from various branches about the benefits of this.. i suspect though there will be an awful lot of elders who were serving as king pins in these congregations who are going to have their noses put out by going back to local language congregations where they will barely be used.

It’s all virtue signalling IMO. The whole religion is made up of soulless people who have been made to feel so ashamed that they need to showboat.
The foreign language and need greater programs at least allowed them to feel a little better than the low hour single mother that sits in the back of the Kingdom Hall. Now it’s been taken away.

Why Do People Loot and Destroy When Someone Gets Shot?
by minimus insomeone gets shot and or killed and hundreds of people decide to loot and destroy businesses or whatever else is in their path.
what does this do to make things better?
i really don’t get how they think it makes things better or solves anything..

It’s like people that complain about a lack of services in their neighborhood loot and steal from the remaining businesses and then those guys pack up and leave.

It is hard to say where it will go. Many “worldly” corporations are now questioning the value of brick and mortar for business meetings. It is so much easier to have a zoom meeting. National organizations can meet without anyone leaving their homes. One colleague of mine said he can get done in half a day what used to take 3 with all the travel involved.
The jws are a different breed though. I believe it is more difficult to guilt and shame over a computer screen. They might need face to face to “encourage” the brothers and sisters.

The Anointed Apostate: the Remarkable Sister Pettifog
by TerryWalstrom in(on the anniversary of my jw best friend's death, i've reached into my archive to replay this incident in his honor)
the remarkable sister *pettifog*.
this morning i arrived on my bicycle at the local starbucks early and took up a seat at the outdoor table in the fresh air.. that’s when it happened--a group of 3 older ladies at one of the other tables outside rose to leave and one of them walked over to my table and spoke directly to me.

Terry,
There are those in life that are naturally takers, users call them whatever. They have figured out how to manipulate good people like us for their own benefit. This is where the jws are at. I grew up a jw, watched the 1975 bs as a youngster. I was mentally pressured to an early baptism because that generation is getting old and there isn’t much time left. I honestly believed in it and was truly terrified of dying an excruciating death at the hands of a “loving” god. Now it all means nothing.
I won’t bother looking up when the number of partakers began to grow but I think it was late 90’s or early 2000’s . I think maybe around the 1995 generation teaching change. I believe that these rising partakers numbers was engineered by the organization to keep the gravy train on track. It was obvious that Armageddon wasn’t coming anytime soon so they had to keep it going somehow.
25 years on and a new generation teaching, basically a new religion they keep the scam going to dupe new recruits into providing a free ride for the governing body.
Where is this rant going? I want to personally thank you and all the other posters on here for posting your experiences and helping many to wake up to this evil religion.
