  how many times did you see elders hounding congregation members to quit their jobs due to missing meetings?.

  my brother worked at a grocery store at 16 years old.

  he would miss tuesday's ministry school due to his work schedule.

  There are experiences where someone got fired for going to assembly. Every one I had any insight on were poor employees,''

  
  Bosses don’t always fire poor workers, the other employees do.
  Workers get tired of bailing out and subsidizing entitled co workers. If you have to work every Saturday morning because Jehovah’s Witness Johnny has field service you just might look for a different job. This terrifies your employer as he doesn’t want to cover every weekend either. The circuit assembly might be the last straw and Johnny gets fired and your boss hires someone willing to work every other Saturday or the odd mid week evening that is required to keep the business profitable and his other employees happy.

  You don’t choose the vagina you were born from or the sperm donor that put you there.

  This is what these overbearing clowns don’t understand. Some people just don’t get the breaks in life that others do and have to work harder just to make ends meet. Some people are born with well off, socially connected parents and others are born to society’s outcasts. Some people are born with superior intellectual capacity, whereas others are genetically prone to learning disabilities like dyslexia, adhd, autism and obsessive compulsive disorder. Some people have unresolved trauma from an abusive childhood that affect their employment prospects, while others had a safe and happy childhood.

  A few decades ago we had a hatchet man circuit overseer. He had a reputation for deleting elders and ministerial servants who missed meetings because of working. This CO was born with a silver spoon. His non jw father owned a chain of high end retail stores. I knew this CO when I was a teenager and he was a pioneer in our city. He partied, drank heavy and drove high end sports cars when he was younger.

  This guy never worked a real job or had to worry about how the bills were going to be paid but was eager to tell others how to live their lives and manage their money.

  january 1st 1976, i remember that day when i heard a radio disc jockey gleefully announce that the world had not ended as jehovah’s witnesses had said it would .

  My parents lived through 1975 and vehemently deny that the organization made a big deal about that year even though some in our congregation left “the truth” shortly thereafter.

  absolute worst case scenario, the last of the generation that saw the events of 1914 would have died off would be in the mid to late 1990's!

  so we were told in the 1980's!

  so now we 3/4 of another generation past that!.

  The guy that influenced Charles Taze Russel in pyramidology was Charles Piazzi Smyth.

  This is where is gets a little weird.

  Smyth was the chief astronomer for Scotland and the underlying reason for his study of pyramids was to show that the British imperial measurement system was god given so that he wouldn’t have to learn the metric system. In fact he hated the metric system because he hated the French.

  So our whole Jehovah’s Witness existence and all the bs we’ve put up with over the course of our lives might just be because some guy in 1864 hated the metric system.

  And the French.

  The reason that 1914 is so hard to explain is that the date was originally concocted by charlatan Charlie (Taze Russel) by measuring the length of some passages in the great pyramid and assuming that the numbers meant something. BTW the original guy that did the measuring had to come up with his own unit (pyramid inches) to make it all work. CTR taught that Jesus came in 1874 (invisibility) and that Armageddon would happen in 1914.

  As every person in history has ever done Charlie died in 1916 and Rutherfraud did a hostile takeover of the corporate a$$ets. It was obvious by 1919 that Armageddon hadn’t taken place so he set 1925 as the date of the end. This date came and went as 100% of end world predictions fail and he needed a new plan. Thus in 1928 they denounced the pyramid scheme and came up with the times theory that many of us on this site tried to explain in the field ministry. They changed 1914 to the beginning of the last days and worked the 2520 years back to 607 bce even though Jerusalem was destroyed in 587 but who cares about historical accuracy at this point anyway.

  It’s been 151 years since CTR started his religion in 1870.

  The problem with end times cults is they have to keep changing the end times.

  I think I have some unresolved trauma due to the generation teaching. Never being good enough for those clowns and the fear of a violent death messes with the mind. Thankfully I’ve woken up from that nightmare.

  i have learn a lot about the religion and congregations.

  when i was active visiting meetings, i was there for the spiritual food.

  i actually thought everyone else was there for same reason ;-) i have learn there's a great variation among jws.

  I found out my nagging suspicions were correct. I received validation by finding out my experiences are not unique. Jehovah’s Witness culture is the same as the old worlds. They are just a little better virtue signallers. There is a caste system in the congregation based on physical appearance, wealth, connections to big wigs in the organization. Although they claim to be different from the world, they are much the same.

  Colloidal Silver

  i was curious if anyone had/has any experience with the use of colloidal silver for antibiotic and/or wound healing?

  a health food store clerk recommended this in answer to my question about such.. thank you in advance.. just as a ps, i have heard about the man who turned his skin complexion blue.

  apparently he ingested large amounts and applied it all over himself for an extended period.
