  Circuit Overseer Coming For Lunch – Everything Has to be Perfect

  we have the circuit overseer’s visit this week, and my folks are having him and his wife over for lunch today.

  of course, i’m making it a point of hightailing it out of there to have my lunch elsewhere.

  when my mom asks me “why don’t you stay and meet him,” i just say, “well, he’s just a man like everybody else.” she says, “well, of course.

  Oh yea, I remember how everyone in my old congregation used to be grumpy as hell every meeting yet when it was CO visit time the same people would act all chipper and joyful out of the blue. I found it funny too how the same people and elders who would never speak to you any other time would suddenly come out of the woodworks and start speaking like normal and acting all happy while the CO was around.

  Its amazing how i saw through the fakeness of the whole visit even before learning the ttatt.

  Kingdom Hall Attenders: Consider Stopping the Use of Loaded Language

  it's been a long time since i attended, but i understand that many of you still go to the kingdom hall for your various reasons.. a huge thing that helped me in my mentally breaking from their beliefs was to stop using their terms that put you, virtually automatically, into their thought mode.. using terms like "the truth," jw's feel special about themselves and this helps them separate themselves from "the world.

  " by incorporating loaded language, jw's learn not to think, but merely to memorize words and phrases instead of analyzing a situation.. the reasons someone misses meetings is because they are "spiritually weak.

  " they might be involved in "worldly thinking.".

  I have tried really hard to be worldly, for ten years, tried to get worldly friends, and get back with family.

  i am so bad at being worldly, it's not like i gave it a good try, we are just not good at it my husband and i, i see him light up as he has started to read the bible again.

  i'm good at being a witness, i am accepted, and hold the same beliefs, i have tried to find somewhere else, if there is a place, why hav'n't jehovah and the angels directed me to it?

  thank you for all the loving posts, some of them have been just what i needed.

  At the end of the day, Its you who determines your own happiness. Its not our place to judge or criticize you for your decision despite not understanding why you would ever go back to that.

  Hopefully from what you have learned from being on both sides will help you not to become a judgmental witness again judging those who no longer share your same enthusiasm for the religion.

  My sister who is still in is going to Costa Rica as a missionary

  i left the organization in 2011 and never look back.

  i left behind my sister and her two daughters by mid 2015 both her daughters (both are in their early twenties) were disfellowshipped and left the organization.

  she has decided to go to costa rica as a missionary (i guess that's what they are still calling them, unless that has changed, been gone so long i don't know if they came up with a new term for it).

  our last conversation was him yelling at me because i "loved the gays".

  translation, i pointed out that nobody chooses their sexuality.

  i've been shunned since daing last september, and really for a year or so after visiting my df'ed brother.

  i ran into an older sister who has always been very sweet.. it was a friendly chat...yet she pushed for a reason why my family have been missing from meetings for some time.

  the question was deflected, until it just had to be said: "well, there have been some troubling and disturbing issues about the society especially the way things were handled during the royal commission, as well as many other issues".. she quickly cut in and said "but why would you want to know these things?

  its best not to research and look at those sort of things - so we don't get upset!".

  Help messy problem

  the problem is i have a baptized witness going out on service door to door giveing comments at kh who for the last 4 years has had sex with at least 10 prostitutes and regularly takes drugs ie speed the cong has no idea he's doing this he says he will never go to elders for fear his family will shun him if df so he continues i know because he tells me everything should i tell the elders or not.

  i am now seperated from my jw husband.

  he cheated twice on me, once while i was pregnant.

  he hasnt been to meetings for approximately 2 years.

  misogyny at its finest! Its such a double standard. Now had it been the other way around and you were the one cheating they would have df'd your ass so quick but because he has a penis they choose not to get involved. This is what really makes me sick about the organization.

  Sorry you are going through this but i hope you come out a stronger person because of it. HUGS
