many weeks ago, i apparently put "m" on today's date- wednesday, march 23rd, in my google calendar.
it was supposed to remind me that the memorial that jehovah's witnesses observe would be held today.
i was flipping through my calendar this past weekend and asked my wife "what in the world is 'm' for (that day)?
Lol I just got a reminder text message about the memorial tonight from the same elder who claimed he didnt have my phone number when I caught him and his elder pal stalking out my place 3 weeks prior.
Im trying to think of a whitty reply to respond back to it but I might just ignore it and go on with my day.
does anyone else feel 'pulled back in' at this time of year?.
i still consider myself to a believer, believe in god and jesus christ, on the whole i think he taught tolerance, love, acceptance and i think we can benefit from following his example.

think it through. you still got one more day to decide torn but don't feel pressured or guilted to do something if you really don't wanna. This one will be my first memorial that i miss and i've made my peace with it already. I'm tired of feeling like i need everyone's approval. I don't give a damn and i'm okay with that now.
At the end of the day, do what you feel is best but make sure its for you and what you want and not for anybody else or obligation.

in my old congregation, everyone seems clean.
mostly chaste courtship, kingdom hall wedding, blah blah.. well there are lots of cases of fondling but they were soon forgotton.
when my husband and i confessed to sex before marriage, the elders were disgusted.

Fulano from the article in your OP you asked who was the JW needgreater who committed suicide in the DR. His name was paul holmes. It happened in 2014. I know because I was there. Those other links that you have just posted have nothing to do with the original article.

i find it very sad that people have limited choices as to whether they wish to stay or leave watchtower.
many are simply held captive as a result.
fear of losing family and friends being the biggest factor.
have you noticed just how strong peer pressure is amongst witnesses?.
the desire to match or better one another's "spiritual accomplishments" or decisions in life?.
pioneering - because it is the "right" thing to do.. answering at meetings...perhaps multiple times - because it is the "right" thing to do.. choice of employment.
That does mess with a young one who is born in, as they can never truly develop their own personality.
There's no doubt in my mind that i'm somewhat a perfectionist because of my JW upbringing. When your constantly told that what you give is never good enough and you could be giving more more more, it plays with your psyche. As DOC mentioned above everything is for Show. Nothing is truly authentic. Either measure up or be the next gossip talk for the weekly pioneer service crew.
So glad to be out of that anxiety filled mess.
