how do you use the board?
do you bother reading people's posts when you start a topic, and acknowledge their response?.
do you read all the posts on a thread when you post to see if someone has added more details, or already posted what you would have said?

"Do you find that you get very little feedback to your posts, or that you are generally a thread killer?"
Yes.

this is brilliant!!
telemarketer counter-script
I've started playing with their minds...
Usually, the phones are 'dialed' with a computer... and there is a delay between when the tele-marketer is 'connected' and says, "Hello".
So - whan I answer the phone and say, "Hello?" there can be several seconds go by before they are connected, and start their schpeil.
I keep saying, "Hello?" "Hello?" "Hello?"
After they get connected, they start by saying, "Hello."
Me - "Hello?" "Hello?"
Them - "Hello? Can you hear me?"
Me - "Hello?" "Hello?"
I usually quit after a few times - as they start to get frustrated rather easily. I also do not raise my tone any, but rather keep it even-toned. This also gets to them.

Kinda ironic that they are suing to keep their CD-ROM 'secret', and only for JWs, and yet by doing so... the courts will certainly have to 'look' at the contents...

"If you do not agree to its terms, do not install or otherwise use the Product. Rather, return it to Watch Tower or transfer it to a user who agrees to be bound by the terms of this Agreement."
In this part of the EULA, they do NOT say 'Jehovah's Witness', but rather 'user'.
Quotes is a 'user'. Plain and simple.
Oh - later on they talk about 'transferring' the information to a JW - but I read that as something different from the initial statement.
Anyway... as has been mentioned before... we need to be careful what strategies are discussed openly here... there are no doubt 'other eyes' watching this discussion... and will no doubt use the information presented here to help their own case.

"In 1993, Watch Tower of Pennsylvania produced the Watchtower Library on CD-ROM, an electronic compilation of most of its religious materials published since 1950."
"which restricts use of the CD-ROMs and their software to Jehovah’s Witnesses, Accordingly, the CD-ROMs constitute confidential information."
"Watch Tower of Pennsylvania is the owner of all copyrights in the CD-ROMs as “compilations” and computer programs."
Well... this is confusing...
They (WTBTS) have published all of these books in the past (even prior to 1950), and distributed them to the public (I.E. door-to-door... anyone remember trying to 'place' that big red 'Babylon' book?) - with NO such restrictions (I.E. "consider this confidential information"). Now, they put them onto CD-ROM, and all of a sudden... they magically become 'confidential', and 'restricts use' to Jehovah's Witnesses?
Actually... if one reads it closely... it is NOT the publications that are on the CD-ROM... but the CD-ROMs and 'software' on the CD-ROM that they are claiming to be copyrighted.
I think that the way to 'beat' this one would be to toss the CD-ROMs, go find actual books - scan them, and then post that. I don't seem to remember any 'copyright' inside any JW book that I ever read... of course... maybe it was there in the Watchtowers and Awakes... but I don't think I remember seeing it in any of the other publications.
ok. this is not a thread killer thread.. so please do not post pics to gross people out.. and then we lose the thread... .
this is just a thread to check in.. say hi.. if you want to vent that gas prices were high on the way into work .. do it.. .
if you just want to say how much you love us.. say that?.
Sassy!!!!!!
RE: Satin Sheets -
hahahahaha - Ya know... it ain't easy to stay put on a bed with Satin Sheets... ya tend to keep sliding all about! So do the covers. Many times during the night, we both reach down to pull them up - as they have slid off to the floor. Perhaps I need a stapler, to make 'em stay put. Or Duct Tape. *wide grin*
As for me and Shreta - she's the most beautiful gal I have known in a long time. It's great spending time with her.

Hey Sassy!!!
Well... this past weekend (Labor Day), I helped my girlfriend move her furniture into my home. Yup... we're now officially 'living in sin'... *rolls eyes*
(Stuff is all over the place... massively unorganized... etc)
Next week, one of her galpals from Missouri is coming here to visit her, and we also got the spare bedroom ready for her.
Gonna have fun when she gets here - and show her the sights.

P.S. Good thread idea...
the disaster relief committee at patterson organized 3 meetings this past memorial day, monday september 5, 2005. the meetings were held in lake charles, louisiana; bossier city, louisiana; and ball, louisiana.
over 1,200 elders were in attendance from louisiana, missouri, arkansas, and texas.
i took horrible notes, but want to share a few things.. the elder opening the meeting emphasized the importance of confidentiality.
Interesting...
Phase 1 - assess the property damage to the buildings you are financing...
Phase 2 - locate the individuals who are still making payments on same said property...
