  If you really think about it, NO ONE is "worthy" to speak to God. All those JWs, or any others for that matter, who think they are good enough to rub shoulders with God are deceived. We are not good enough. That is why God gave us Christ to be our access to Him. NOT the Watchtower Society! Listen to Gopher...talk to God through Christ and you'll be heard. Best wishes to you.

  One must be cautious when searching for God's "newly released information bearer." The teaching that God will only reveal himself to a select few or to a certain group rides real close to Gnosticism. That old "secret knowledge" teaching was prevelent in the early centuries. God reveals himself to those who seek him and believe; not to a self proclaimed prophet (person or organization).

  I know about that teenage double life routine. That was me in the seventies. Thankfully I pulled it off until I was able to go out on my own.

  Art School JWs?

  some years back i went to art school for a year, and life drawing was one of the subjects.

  although the prospect of perving on naked women was at first appealing, it soon became evident that sex-drive is a left-brain function while drawing is strictly right-brain.

  iow, drawing naked people was just plain hard work, and it was the only thing that was hard!

  I suppose being a doctor would be out. (Its those examinations, ya know.)
  You might as well throw out being a sports reporter. (Oh, those evil, competitive locker rooms.)
  You could really stretch this out and say you could not work for undergarment or lingerie manufacturers. Hmmm... I wonder why?

  Is there life after JW?

  hi everyone, i'm new to this whole internet thing, i always thought that the internet was 'wrong', i guess.

  i was just wandering if anyone else was finding it hard to get on in life after deciding that jw's are not the 'truth'.

  does anyone else feel the struggle to find a substitute?

  Yes, there is life after the WTBTS. The whole concept of "trying to find a substitute" is an especially important one to grab hold of. it is not unusual for a person who has been wholly dependent on someone or something else to feel seperation anxiety. (Kinda like quitting smoking.) A person is not used to being independent. He or she is frantically trying to find someone or soething else to attach to. However, if one can realize this and supplement that knowledge with a close friend or two to unload on when needed, he or she will become free of the need to "find a substitute." The journey might be painful at first, but the destination is terrific!
