but that Judgement will PRECEED "destruction"
Can you give a tangible reason as to why there needs to be destruction before judgement?

luke 17: 26-35: 26"just as it was in the days of noah, so also will it be in the days of the son of man.
27people were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day noah entered the ark.
then the flood came and destroyed them all.. 28"it was the same in the days of lot.

Just as there was no earthwide flood that killed every living creature except for 8 people and several dozen species of animals in a big wooden box there is not going to be a genocidal war between God and men.
I like where you are going, but that's not what this thread is about.

God's judgment will come, people will be warned, they will have ample time and the evidence will be conclusive, the choice is theirs and they will have no one to blame but themselves for THEIR CHOICE.
This sounds very JW.
I kind of side with the people Noah was warning, why would they all be destroyed? They already were being punished because of sin through death. No need for a second punishment.
When did God set rules about being "too immoral" when he gave humans the boot from the Garden?

Since you don't like Revelation or The Message Bible, ta da!, I bring to you Zechariah from the American Standard Version.
That made me laugh (in a good way!) good form!
So how does your scripture synergize with my scripture about the big A being JUST as Noah's day? Your assertion would make it seem very different than Noah's day.

i was abused by my father growing up.
physically and emotionally.. as a entered my adult life i had next to no self esteem, in part because he didn't really attempt to help me get some because i didn't chose the career path that he dreamed for me.. 2 years ago i forgave him.
i let go of the anger that i had for him because i knew that when it was all said and done, he did what he did and i believe that he did his best.
Don't confuse the word "forgive" with "condone." I am talking of a forgivness that is only within myself. It doesn't advocate what the WT does it just puts out the fire of burning rage in my heart.

2 years ago I forgave him. I let go of the anger that I had for him because I knew that when it was all said and done, he did what he did and I believe that he did his best. The man went through some of the most terrifying sexual abuse when he was real little and it changed him. He is not a bad man, he is a broken man and I don't have the right to judge him in my adult life.
He is not raising me anymore, I am.
I have a good relationship with him now and I know it would not be possible if I didn't forgive him.
Next in line... I need to forgive the Watchtower.
I have drawn so many parrallels with my relationship with the WT and a classic abusive relationship.
But it's over. The Watchtower no longer chooses how I think and act, I do.
I think it's time to forgive and forget and move on.
Funny, forgiving the WT is turning out to be MUCH harder than forgiving my father who beat the sh*t out of me and told me I was worthless...

i realized about a year ago after much lurking here, that the truth was in fact a lie.
it rocked me to my core to come to the understanding that everything that i have been taught, believed in and taught people myself was in fact not true.
when you are a born in like myself, the teachings of the wts become all you know.
You know what, the first step to your new life is to forgive the Watchtower for the crimes they committed against you.
I haven't even done this yet, but it's something I really want to do. Forgiveness always brings peace.

I joined some volunteer groups
What kind?
I am thinking about doing the same thing, but my JW induced, anit-social behaviour is currently an obstacle.

Be honest, its ok to say "we were wrong" or "we don't know".
They claim to be Jehovah's sole channel of communication. That's where they shoot themselves in the feet. If they flat out say "they are wrong" about something big (say, 1914)... think about what that would mean.
I'm not condoning their actions, but I do understand them. They are in a rock and a hard place and have been there for many moons. The only way for them to cope with this catch 22 is to truly believe that they are being directed by the creator of the universe and put on blindfolds and ear muffs and keep trudging till they stumble into Paradise.

28 "It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 "It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32 Remember Lot's wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35 Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left."
From this scripture, it would seem that Armageddon (from a Biblical standpoint, that is) is going to be something very similar to what the JWs teach.
This, to me, is such a dangerous scripture and I believe has a large part in the creation of destructive Christian groups. We all ridicule the JWs for believing that God is going to destroy everyone but it's WHAT THE BIBLE says:
Just as in the days of Noah... God will destroy them ALL.
8 People were left after the Flood. According to the above scriptures there will be an equal ratio left after the big A.
How would the Christians explain these words of Jesus? Is he really going to come back and kill everyone (including children, just as in Noah's day)?
