Simple logic would dictate that we CAME from the earth in some way. It's by no means a point to divine author of Genesis, it points to man who came up with a cool way to GUESS that we came from the earth around us.

The moment I knew it was crap....
by Brocephus inalready had doubts from the time i got pubes... but i was about 15 and we were studying the revelation "book" for the upteenth time.
i realized for every actual bible verse they qouted there was 2-3 paragraphs of conjecture, assumption, faulty logic and just plain stupidity.
that's when i began to plan my escape.

I don't get it.
Why would they say God doesn't have a plan because plans can fail... Uh not GOD's PLAN! Jesus, why do they have to mince words?
God is perfect according to the Bible, so anything God does shall reflect that, whether it's justice, power, love or his plan.
Maybe God shouldn't love either because humans sometimes use love to motivate sin? The logical fallacy is blatent!
Purpose = Perfect - Plan = Imperfect

by maryacclaim inthanks blondie for the comment, i have to say you are one of the famous here on j-w.net so its an honor.. to answer some of those who think i did this and now i live a lie or a life of regret, i say this.. i did live a lie most of my life, i had so many questions that never got answered.
i didn't want to do bad by no means but i also didn't feel it was an organizations right to strip someone of their rights due to a difference of opinion.
it was actually a great deed they did for me when they df'd me.

Scary stuff.... I've just realized that I could be disfellowshipped at any time
by Quillsky ini like to think that i have escaped the cult completely, since i, and members of my close family, faded away years ago.
however, i have recently realized that my "elder" uncle, my father's older brother, could technically have me disfellowshipped, such as if he figures out that i post on an "apostate" message board (i've tried to direct my cousin here), or sees me smoking in a restaurant in the small town we all live in, or hears from my father that my boyfriend and i have been away for a weekend together.. so i've recently discovered this fear.
although i believe i'm "out" i'm still trapped in a way.

The only way to truely be free of the Borg is to expel their power. Which means not being afraid of being DF'ed. This is an extremely hard mindset to develop, but it generally goes this way:
Anyone who observes the disfellowshipping arangement does so on their own accord, ultimately. You cannot take responsibility for others thoughts and actions, only your own. Fear of being DF'ed is playing into the hands of the cult. You have to raise your standards with who you actively associate with. Conditional love is no love at all, love never fails.
I know it's easier said than done, but if you continually push yourself inch by inch toward this mindset you will be set free from the Borg forever.

Accidentally Got an Email from a JW. . .

this happened once before, a few months back, i just deleted it, but found it curious that he hadn't removed all "known apostates" from his address book.. .
this time, i couldn't let it pass.

Why is there a need for Ministry School presentations?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwe were told that the preaching work was lead and guided by ''angels'' and the holy spirit.. if that is so,why the need for magazine presentations week after week?
why is a half hour spent showing each member what to say and how to respond to certain questions?
why practice presentations when the angels and holy spirit are there to help?.

I think that's the wrong question to ask. I would ask why the presentation "examples" exist at all for any reason. 5th graders around the world are giving more thought out presentations for their school projects. Sometimes I get the feeling that the Society thinks that everyone on the earth are a bunch of chumps, witness and non witness alike.
As for the angel thing. Angel's direct you the door supposedly, they don't speak for you. And as far as God's spirit goes, the spirit only gives you the "strength." Think of God's spirit as the Force in Star Wars, it doesn't levitate things FOR you, persay, it is just a system to tap into that allows for that type of thing.
