My First Birthday.....
by The Marvster ini awoken today and realised immidiately i'm 44 today... and after 3 years of being out, decided to acknowledge my birthday.... i'm off out to treat myself to a big hearty breakfast with cup of tea in the local weatherspoon's by the massive pond full of weird bird-life, later today i'm giving myself a gift of a 90 minute relaxation session in a float tank down by canary wharf in london.... only really have 2 close friends (it's a slow process trusting people agian) and they probably won't be able to see me today, but i'm sure i'll have a belated surprise from them both.... the first thing i did when i remembered was to rush to the computer, connect to the web and put on stevie wonder's 'happy birthday', as i listen to it, tears stream down my face... all those years of my life stolen ' but..... i'm free....'.

I tested something like this in the office in the early 1990's and it tripped the power all the time taking most of the floor out so we quickly abandoned the idea.
I suspect they have improved things somewhat?
Thanks for the heads up Simon, I've been considering moving my office to one of the back bedrooms and was concerned about the wifi speed for video conferencing etc.
I think you may have just proposed the solution :)

Mobile Hotspot - JWFACTS.COM - Assembly & Conventions
by thedepressedsoul inhere is an idea i tested.
works at both assemblies and conventions.
i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.

The key to this is that no one need access any unknown hotspots, this just appears in the list of hotspots that people could choose - right in front of them.
Subtle! ;)

Just reading up about the piratebox idea.
You could load it up with all sorts of tempting files to download.
- Shepherd The Flock Book
- BOE letters
- Answers to upcoming meetings
- Crisis Of Conscience
Right in their midst.
Loving this! :)

I like it.
You could perhaps name it 'Apostate' and have them feeling really uncomfortable as they know there's an apostate declaring their presence right in their midst. The idea could catch on as more awakened ones see this and the idea could spread.
I'm just imagining the whole place covered by 'Apostate' WiFi :D
Now that would send a message!

I took the 'growth in the area' as being a consequence of the Temple Farm development. This is also in Chelmsford.
They attract extra JW's into the area to build their headquarters for free.
They take advantage of the situation and spin this as growth and a need to provide a new place of worship. For some reason this is in a city centre office block - maybe something to do with the resale value and ease of change of use, but I don't know ;)
In the not too distant future...
Temple Farm is completed and there are no longer as many JW's in the area. There's no need for such a large meeting place. Watchtower puts it on the market as prime city centre real-estate and realises the profits.

The international property development corporation moves into Chelmsford:
Jehovah's Witnesses open £500k church in the heart of Chelmsford
"The new Kingdom Hall is a visible presence right in the city centre."
Chelmsford Witnesses first earmarked the empty office block, apparently designed eight years ago as a nightclub, in about 2011.
By 2012 the group had agreed a £260,000 purchase for part of the ground floor and the entire lower ground floor, but it has taken three years to bring the project to fruition.
Witnesses from across the world helped fork out £250,000 for the renovation, which was carried out by about 300 volunteering Christians in the summer, commuting from as far as Cornwall and Scotland.
£510,000 = US$778,000
I wonder how long it will be before Watchtower sells this and realises everyone else's investments?

One thing I've not understood with that seed vault is why the entrance needs to be so tall.
