Thanks everybody for commenting. It took only about an hour or so. The librarian kept looking - she was wondering why I was taking pictures of all these books. I thought she was gonna say something - she even walked over near me - but she just looked and never made a comment. LOL

I didn't record the page numbers Besty. It was 9 sets of encyclopedias and bible dictionaries. I looked up all the topics I mentioned at the top, and anything that mentioned the destruction of jerusalem is what i snapped a picture of. On my post - I include the book name as the first picture, then the snapshots of the entries following that.

BUT, perhaps there are sneaky apostates working at all these book publishing companies?? And they are altering things so that we only see lies... Hmmmm...The WT says they are very cunning..and that we can't trust them...haha

Amazing that ALL THIS PROOF exists and over 25 years I never thought to research this. Wow!

When was Jerusalem destroyed? Watchtower says 607 BCE. I decided to dig into this matter myself at the public library yesterday. I examined every book I could find that contained facts about Jerusalem. I ended up looking through 9 sets of encyclopedias, all produced by different authors and companies. In each set of encyclopedias, I looked up the following terms: Jerusalem, Israel, Nebuchadnezzar, Zedekiah and Jews. I took pictures of each set of encyclopedias, and every mention of the destruction of Jerusalem. I found absolutely no mention of 607 BCE. All reference books, both secular and religious, agree that Jerusalem was destroyed in 587-586 BCE. Below is the proof for your examination.

I hope this proves helpful. I've decided to believe what the facts show. And the facts show that Jerusalem was destroyed in 587-586 B.C.E.

Remember that they brought this back in the mid-late 90's, after the release of the knowledge book in 1996. I have a special talk where the brother mentions it actually. After a couple of years, they gave up on it. This was right around the time I went to pioneer school, so i remember it clearly.

ive been lurking here for the past couple of months since i started researching the organization.

i dont have many people to talk to and its been a saving grace to read your posts.. i dont really know where to start so here i go.

its been a long journey getting here and it looks as if i still have a long ways to go to get somewhere healthy, stable and strong.

what were your meetings for field service experiences?

my mom (still in the borg) was telling me about going out with the c.o and his wife this week in field service & i started re-living the horror show that would go on during saturday meetings for field service-.

ah... the dreaded splitting up into car groups... i always felt like we were in gym class being grouped together for a game of dodgeball-.

the co and elders were the team captains and we would line up for the count.

I quit going out during the CO visits about 4 years ago. He suggested working business territory the last time I went out with him. That was the last time I ever showed up for service during a CO visit. I never cared for the business territory. And I was a MS, except for the last year of this time.

good morning everyone..."happy monday" to you!!.

so for some time now, in attempt to help prevent the dubs from spreading their lies in the magazines, my parents (rock hound and little bo peep) have been stopping by the local laundry mats and taking out all the watchtower and awakes that are left behind and with a pen they write on the magazine, see jwfacts.com, and then they highlight it, and put it back in the laundry mat!

they have been doing this for some time now, and guess what??

No Shorts and T-Shirts After Convention - Remember?

does everyone remember a few years back, when the km directed that nobody should wear shorts after the convention while out and about?

i don't have the reference, but i remember a brother in our hall made a comment that night at the meeting while it was being discussed.

he was a very poor brother, with 3 children.

How many meetings did you actually enjoy?

i was talking to my husband and we were trying to work out how many meetings we actually came away from feeling enthused or excited by what we had heard.

not including pre and post meeting association how many wow moments can you recall?.

we had to conclude that most of the time in the organisation the meeting was something you endured.

I never "hated" the meetings really. But, like most people I just went because it was required. One of the last meetings I went to was a CO visit, and I was already mentally OUT.. And the CO was new to our circuit, and he was the kind of speaker that even though he was speaking cult jargon, he could almost make you get back on the bandwagon - he was just that good.
