It's a good thing they are trying to help the kids who are being bullied and the format of this video is pretty good. I don't want to be negative about anyone who is creating awareness on the topic or helping those who may be at risk of bullying. However I will.

The rules they demand JW kids to follow invite bullying. Their advice to help those who suffer bullying is not fully in line with what bullying charities would give. The leadership and example set by some in the organisation develops a passive / victim acceptance role by the majority especially for girls / women. In case that was not clear - the WBTS train it's people to be victims and accept being victims. It wants it's members to be bullied (or persecuted) so they fear the world and continue to accept WT teachings.

There are a breed of JW's who are very controlling bullies. I know one and his son is also the school bully. I feel for all the kids that suffer him - both in the school and in the congregation.

jehovah's witnesses say it is not their responsibility to report child sex abuse to police unless mandatory reporting legislation is in place.. a victorian inquiry on thursday heard that when a jehovah's witness leader hears allegations of abuse they are directed immediately to contact the society's legal department to check their obligations under state law.. jehovah's witness legal counsel rachel van witsen said elders were not expected to know their legal obligations.. "this is done to ensure elders fully comply with any legal requirements that may be applicable in the state in which they reside," she said.. "in victoria if there was mandatory reporting the immediate advice would be to report that immediately.".

the society's director terrence o'brien said the decision to take the allegations to police lay with the victim.. "without mandatory reporting we don't feel that as ministers of religion that's our obligation to do that," mr o'brien said.. however, the organisation would encourage the victim to report it and would co-operate fully with police, he said.. ms van witsen said elders would make an exception if they felt the child was threatened.. "we would report that to appropriate authorities," she told the inquiry.. "we're about stopping child abuse.".

the victims are normerly children, potentially very young children unable to report it.

The good samaritan upon seeing the victim proceeded to contact the legal department before crossing the road and informing the victim they should report the crime.

My latest university experience...

this isn't a jw experience, but for those of you that have been following my life, i thought i'd have a drink and share this strange event in my post-jw life.. for you wonderful newbies, you can catch up on highlights of my story in the few threads i've started here.

i'm finishing the junior year of my engineering degree and the classes are hard as hell.

i used to be among the smartest students in the room until i hit the 300 level university courses.

Someone in here is a mole

hy guys the other day my wife had a discussion with her jws brother and he told her that he received all posted material from this site posted by myself and was disgusted with the information.

now that's all fine by me but what i am pissed about is that some one in here from sydney australia is a mole and pretends to be an ex jws while all the while exposing each and every one he knows as in my case.

you are one big coward and one who hides behind a skirt a yellow and a chicken shit whom doesn't have the balls to face me in person because you obviously know who i am.

That's a horrible thing to happen although it's something any JW would do. They believe the end justifies the means. So did the hitler youth.

Some advise mentioning some fiction about yourself to throw the moles off the scent. I've never felt this necessary as I've hidden all the critical information like being a great carpenter, I even made all the chairs in my kingdom hall and initialled a few underneath which is known by a few local elders. Good luck turning over all those chairs in all those kingdom halls to find me

I'm very grateful for the efforts of a number of individuals such as Barbara Anderson, JW Facts, Cedars to name a just a few of the many that have done a great job in fighting the WBTS. How much better that they put their heads together and get more organised?

The Ex JW community has become strong in identifying and recording the inaccuracies and hypocrasies of the WBTS as well as the impacts through experiences. Channelling some of this through AAWA that makes a further dent in the existence of the WBTS has to be a good thing.

Well done Billy!

JW's often think they can easily succeed "if they chose to follow Satan's world". They have little appreciation for how hard it is, what a degree means. I was told so many times that a degree was just a title and that graduates thought they knew everything.

Turning up to lessons is all most JW's think is required to get a degree. I suspect your regular attendance would have helped to demonstrate your commitment but clearly your aptitude, attitude and hard work counted far more.

please sorry for english, i have only been learning for 18 months.

everyone please think about it, and beware of any initiative designed to solve "a community problem".

becasue russel also started his own cult on a similar premise like this , claiming to have all the answers to issues whose solutions seems obscured to the majority in his days, and here we are today, constantly bashing our fingers on the keyboard in a bid to finding comfort from the mess he had put all of us into.

I wonder what the number of cults are as a % of organizations. Pretty small I'd suspect, better odds of being struck by lightening. I think we're all a little cult sensitive so obviously it will crop up in our thoughts. Is there any chance I'll give up 30 years of my life, my friends, my education, my health, my freedom to AAWA? No it won't be a cult - pretty stupid question IMHO.

I gave blood this week

not for the first time, notched up 11 donations so far.

would have been far more but i've been declined quite a few times for various reasons such as having a cold, dental work and trips abroad.

they check for hiv, hepatitis b & c as well as some other diseases each time i give here in the uk.

They check for HIV, Hepatitis B & C as well as some other diseases each time I give here in the UK. I know many of the other people who give at my office and I'd be happy to receive a pint of blood from any of them.

Plenty would like to give and can't so for as long as I can I going to carry on giving and who knows, maybe save the odd JW's life - fractionally that is!

I'm on the organ donor list too as had a relative that needed an organ and ran out of time too quick to get one. Tough topic to consider but if we all made the effort there would be some more very grateful people among us now.
