i am writing this because i am so upset about the bickering and fighting that is going on about oompa.
this was an amazing wonderful, peaceful, giving man who never met a strager who is now deceased and you are taking his name and running all over the place with it using it for your own agendas.
he is not a statistic.
Stacey Thanks for sharing about the Oomps. He seemed like quite a character on here...and now you are confirming this. In some way, I hope you can feel the care and warmth here as you grieve. May the memories of his funny ways and the good times surround you.

i suggested a handwritten note, on behalf of the whole community here, flowers, and perhaps a donation to a charity that helps people get back on their feet.
Just tell Travis and Ty how much you cared for Eric or were helped/touched by him.

Since yesterday my thoughts have been with his sons. Do I understand they are still teens?

after i posted my last "getting to know you" video where gerrit losch explains his "unique" views on armageddon, a couple of posters mentioned that other similarly controversial comments had been made by gerrit concerning higher education.. well, these comments were actually made in the same recording as the one i used in making the "armageddon" video, so i thought i should make the second video focussing on these.. here it is.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b7drwti-h4.
i realize many heavily indoctrinated publishers will try to defend these remarks by saying that, if it isn't in the society's publications, then gerrit losch's personal opinion is of no particular consequence.
however, the bible says that "out of the heart's abundance the mouth speaks", so by making these videos i hope i am at least showing people what is in the hearts of the men who lead us, and who claim to act as the mouthpiece of the slave class.. .
What I get from his analogy is that the bullet to the head/subsequent surgery were likened to college. (maybe others thought this too, haven't read posts) The man survived the shot and operation and was actually normal after....so if you carry this analogy through, it would be like saying there are small chances for people to 'survive' college . (the funny part is that there is a chance that a 'college survivor' may actually turn out normal, losing a dysfunctional part of them during the experience!! ~~~~so, the OCD is the religion, as I see it)
one of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.
i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).
looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.
