Do you get disappointed if no one responds?
by Larry inwriting should be for our own edification - a personal cleansing, therapeutic at the least.
if you write for other people's approval, you will be disappointed, especially when you share your thoughts on the 'net.
i've seen many folks get 'burn-out' from these boards b/c they don't get the expected respond to their post.

just get some boobies in it somewhere!
They don't have to be mine do they? I am excellent at cut and paste!

was adam and eve forgiven?
by Sangdigger inthis was the subject of a recent debate with myself and some jw family members.
i dont have all the info.
in front of me, but i will give you just two points that i used to lean toward the idea that they were in fact, forgiven.

The WTS reasoning about perfect people who sin not having a hope of resurrection is a classic example of "reading between the lines."
Exactly! Because I remember a watchtower study one time that went on and on about how Satan targets those young and new to the truth because he knows they are weak, which is why he went to Eve and not Adam. To me, by that rationale, they are saying that Eve was perhaps physically perfect, but naive...in which case, how is that her fault? And shouldn't she be forgiven then?
Yeah, I remember being 12 and asking my parents if Adam and Eve would be resurrected, to which they gave me a firm No, and me being the good little borgite that I was I said "oh ok"
Hahaha!

It's amazing, however, the number of responses to fluff posts.
Yes, in fact that is the only thing that disapoints me. If I pour my heart into something, give it a lot of time and effort, two people will respond. If I ask a question I really would like some insight on, maybe five people will reply, but if I post utter garbage and include the word boobie somewhere I will get an overflow of responses.
I don't hold anyone accountable for that tho, I am guility of it myself. It's hard to be serious and give meaningful thoughtful replies all the time. In fact, sometimes I would like to post more meat, but feel like my responses or wording aren't accurate enough so instead I will go to another thread and instead post my underwear preferences.
But I am not looking for approval, or popularity here. Which I have to agree with whoever said it earlier that it is rather annoying to watch people get all huffy and storm in and out of a message board as if it were life and death when they become upset. That's really to be expected, tho sometimes it does seem like highschool again...but I think that goes along with what Xander was saying. People are social beings. We like to belong, and we like to be in groups of people who except us. So while I don't understand why people get huffy over a cyber message board and it's goings on, I do understand the reasoning behind it, and the desire to belong, which is a basic human desire.

A few thoughts.
by The_Bad_Seed ini see that this board/forum has many serious, and what i consider to be meritous posters, that can usually be found dispelling the wtbts shyte.
since my foul arrival here in may, i have read and taken in volumes of great information from this site and it's links, which would have proved (and are) extremely helpful, and valuable to me had i felt the need for justification in my decision to leave the borg in the first place.
i saw the holes, the self preservative techniques, the speculations, the stupid protocols, the 'prophecies' that had outlived their shelf lives, and simply walked away, never really having looked back, always having felt justified because it just didn't feel right to me.

I said you were going!
I will enjoy seeing you wheel yourself out...meanwhile I shall take polaroids of your legs every few weeks, on our travels together, and perhaps send them to you...but be gone! You duck sniffer you!
Oh but in all seriousness--I agree. I don't understand the need to fight/crusade against the WT. Well in theory I do. But to me it seems a bitter thankless battle that would be a very draining task. And I totally agree about the not being free if you constantly dwell on the WT goings on...tho I appreciate the posters that do give out such good information, I could never do it myself. Largely due to the fact I have a brain the size of paperclip.

I got set up on a blind date once. A guy I had a class with tried to hook up me up with a friend of his. Very intelligent, not all that attractive, but I thought, what the hell, he seems really smart, and I find brains sexy--maybe this guy will grow on me. Nope. I have since amended that smart guys, who don't condsend, are sexy.
Example: I was trying to be silly and make conversation, so I said "So how about that Global Warming huh? Are you for it or against it?" He said 'What?" so I repeated..."Are you for it or against it" I said with a giant smile on my face to let him know it was a joke. He sat there and stared at me, so I kept going.."Well frankly I am for it...I am cold all the time, and I hate cold feet, don't you?" He then broke into a 20 minute lecture about how awful global warming was, the castrophe facing the earth because of it, and how insensitive I was for being for it.
The date was over at this point in my book.
The whole night he talked about himself, blah blah blah--anytime I claimed little or no knowledge in a subject he brought up he became very patronizing...the dude was only 4 years older than me, but made a point of telling me how young and naive I was at every opportunity.
This guy was a jackass loser with no manners, who was rude to the waitstaff and me.
But this is the best part, at the end of dinner, he asked me if I wanted to go get a drink somewhere, (it was like 8:30) And I said-Nope, gotta go home. So he walked me to my car, and actually asked if he could call me sometime, to which I said "No, I don't think so" Smiled, said thank you for dinner, and good night. Hahaha!
