I asked a married elder once after he had run the mill of all the things I could do to keep my homosexuality under control had he stopped to consider for just one second what the life he'd just prescribed would be like to live.
He admitted it wouldn't be for him.

Something I've noticed from all the struggling gay JW stories I've read is that how ever much they implored god for help in changeing, how ever much they threw themsleves into 'spiritual' activities god didn't change them into heterosexuals...........they remained GAY.
This is what I've experienced too.
i was thinking today about how i no longer have to fear the attack of satan against the jws.
i used to fear being rounded up and beaten by mobs.
seeing my family tortured.
I remember the Malawi letter writing campaign too Phaedra.
The gory details of what the JW's went through all spelled out in front little kids & the question asked 'would you be able to withstand the same persecution brothers & sisters?'........ Then make sure you keep up with all the spritual food the FDS provides at the proper time..............if it's not in your memory then how will Jehovah be able to bring it back to your mind in order to strengthen you to resist & remain faithful.

Hi Matt, my you really made so much effort as a JW!............all the stuff the WT say's you should do to be truly happy & yet the happiness your beautiful partner brings you far outstrips the phoney 'joy' of the WatchTower treadmill.

I recall now how Judges 19 was once explained at a meeting, probably in a bible reading.
Apparently homosexuality was (is in JWland) considered so heinous a sin it was seen to be less of a sin to offer up the poor woman so heterosexual sex could take place instead.

i'm considering resigning as an elder.
i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.
and i'm completely exhausted.

I remember going to the film 'The Bible' when I was about 10 or 11 with my parents.
I asked my father why the men of Sodom wanted to get to the angels.............poor dad got all embarrassed & flustered out that they were 'homos' & wanted to defile them.
