It felt like a golden era to us.
I was 10 & my parents thought they had found the truth.
They were young & vibrant.
Now they are very elderly they realise it wasn't 'The truth' & trying to cope the best they can.

the food service brings back memories of the 70's & 80's before it was "simplified" by the wtbts.. it would seem that the 60's & early 70's were very much a golden era for the society , before the 1975 debacle.

The new Kingdumb maladies

i have heard scattered reports about how a few actually enjoyed at least a few of the older songs (back when there were 225 of them).
but i have heard nothing but reports of the new songs being impossible to properly sing, very poorly written or performed, or downright blasphemous and promoting blatant idolatry.

I have felt this way about 'the Sovereignty issue' for many years..............ever since I became a 'bolshy' teenager & felt I could start questioning & raising the problems I had with the WT reasoning
Its so good to have others express thoughts similar to mine as it has always been me in the wrong with my 'faulty' reasoning & thinking too much.

I remember being advised not to buy antiques as they could be demon possessed.......
And you know how difficult those demons make it if you try to burn anything possessed by them.....no matter how much petrol is poured on them those ole demons just don't wanna go.

Did you really pay attention at conventions or assemblies?
by donny ina co-worker of mine whose family (2 daughters, wife) are jw's related a funny story yesterday.
his wife and daughters missed the friday portion of the convention last week in order to attend a wedding of a worldly relative.
at dinner she mentioned to him that she would go to the convention this friday to make up for the one she missed.. he then asked why and she said so she could get the information she missed.

Yes Billy that's what I remember...........just how damned disappointing the programs were.
Also I remember how much pressure was put on my mum & dad to attend the conventions because of some world shattering resolution we had to say 'AYE' to.
So all us kids were dragged along miles from home for this resolution............everyone anticipating wondering what it was going to be.
What was Jehovah going to tell us???
Maybe this is it, maybe this REALLY is Armageddon!!!!
A hush would fall over the entire audience............THIS IS IT!!!
