The seven trumpet blasts of Revelation & the “Millions” campaign.
by transhuman68 inone of the jehovahs witness doctrines that many of us have had trouble believing is that the seven angels trumpet blasts described in revelation applied to events that occurred in the 1920s at seven assemblies held around the world at the time when judge rutherford was the president of the watchtower society.. the revelation climax book (1988) contains this summary on page 173:.
highlights of jehovah's trumpetlike judgment proclamations.
1922 cedar point, ohio: a challenge to christendom's leaders in religion, politics, and big business to justify their failure to bring peace, prosperity, and happiness.

How did I sit there on so many Tuesday night book studies listening to the crock in the Revelation book about the trumpet blasts & the 1920 assemblies. No body at the group had any idea what was even said at these assemblies. The old men in Brooklyn really must think we are stupid.

Honestly guys, you who never experienced the 1975 fiasco, we that did ain't making it up, it was real enough.
Circuit Overseers were counting down the months at each visit, tellings us that Brooklyn brothers are even reckoning on Armageddon coming BEFORE 1975 because of the state of the world & how the nations were poised to annihilate each other.
CO's even advised dubs not to have surgery if blood was going to be an issue, the BIG A was sooooo close 'what's wrong with limping through armageddon?'
People had 'Armageddon cars', that is cars that would see them through until Armageddon.............the last car they would need.
OH Yes it was real enough.

Fascinating thread, just fascinating.
The ones at the top must know something is dreadfully wrong with the org'.
When I was a kid even reading a newspaper was looked down on as the 'society prints all we need to know'

Was being a Ministerial Servant a Prerequisite for Marriage
by Pitchess Co-Gen ini'm asking this because when i was in ( disfellowshipped in 2009 ) some "sisters" wouldn't even look at you unless you had the title ministerial servant or worse elder.
i notice this when i was in because one of my friends thinks that by becoming a ms he could get the better looking witness girls.
tell me your stories of this..

Did any of you need counselling or psychotherapy as a JW?
by TimothyT ini have just started my new course to be a qualified counsellor.
naturaly i am studying this because of my own background and now i want to help others who have had similar strains on their lives.. i know the pressure that the jw organisation puts on its members, so i was wondering, if you dont mind saying so of course, did any of you attend counselling sessions due to the pressures and problems that the jw life brought along?.
i can imagine that the majority of my old congregation (myself, my dad and my brother included) would need some form of counselling or medication in order to remain sane.

Yes I did Timmy, bet you can guess what it was about.......
I tried to protect the Jehovah's Witnesses as much as I could but in the end I was was being unfair to myself & the counselor.
I felt very disloyal.
My first cousellor said he had never met anyone with such a strong faith, yet to the JW's in my cong' I was seen as spritually weak, not doing enough in field service, not answering up, not pre studying etc etc.
Thank fully as I live in the UK I did not have to pay for all the counselling I received.

Some JWs are exhibiting signs of violence because of WT hate speech. Read the threat to me and others posted at Topix yesterday
by AndersonsInfo inyesterday, i opened a topix account so i could post the information about watch tower representatives attending the political ocse meeting in poland for two weeks and the proof that they are an ngo.
one of the posters responded with these words: .
"barbs-info," eh?

'Hales' cakes were always suspect as the dubbies thought they had blood in them.
Anything from 'Richmond' was suspect. I knew a sister that wrote to the company & received a very curt response.
