New forum 'parousia' is upon us! (software version)
by Simon inthe time has nearly come to switch over to the new forum software.
of course it's not completely finished yet (and never will be) but i think it's good enough to go live with and probably already better than the current one.
i'll give you a quick overview of what to expect and post more detail about the changeover process later.. cloud platform.

ive been reading lots of older magazines and they are so different from todays watchtower!
the current writers from the organization blame everyone except themselves for failed expectations, failed prophecy, "financial ruin and dependance on the goverment "old age social security and medicaid" on their rank-and-file members.

Very clever mealy mouthed wording that distances the role of the Watchtower leaders during the 1975 debacle. The trouble is, if done consistently over a prolonged period of time it works.

The leaders of the Watchtower organisation are too proud & stiff necked to ever produce a statement like that though.
They are cruel shepherds preferring to blame the least ones of their brothers.
They have stumbled many.

Did you know about the organ transplant ban when you were a believer?

growing up as an earnest witness, and living near the headquarters, i knew a lot of the organization's embarrassing history, and it didn't faze me, but i'd never heard of this ban before, and it shocked me.
it's gotten me wondering why no one i know ever talks about it, when it must have affected many witnesses during that time (or were they getting transplants on the sly?

Humans were allowed by God to eat animal flesh and to sustain their human lives by taking the lives of animals, though they were not permitted to eat blood. Did this include eating human flesh, sustaining one’s life by means of the body or part of the body of another human, alive or dead? No! That would be cannibalism, a practice abhorrent to all civilized people. Jehovah clearly made a distinction between the lives of animals and the lives of humans, mankind being created in God’s image, with his qualities. (Gen. 1:27) This distinction is evident in His next words. God proceeded to show that man’s life is sacred and is not to be taken at will, as may be done with the animals to be used for food. To show disrespect for the sanctity of human life would make one liable to have his own life taken.—Gen. 9:5, 6.
When there is a diseased or defective organ, the usual way health is restored is by taking in nutrients. The body uses the food eaten to repair or heal the organ, gradually replacing the cells. When men of science conclude that this normal process will no longer work and they suggest removing the organ and replacing it directly with an organ from another human, this is simply a shortcut. Those who submit to such operations are thus living off the flesh of another human. That is cannibalistic. However, in allowing man to eat animal flesh Jehovah God did not grant permission for humans to try to perpetuate their lives by cannibalistically taking into their bodies human flesh, whether chewed or in the form of whole organs or body parts taken from others.

From 1 to 10, how do you rate the value of the Internet in your awakening?
by Hidden-Window inas we all know, the internet is a real game-changer in allowing us to know the truth about the watch tower and its history.
i always had doubts and it was the internet that presented me with the ever-growing number of individuals who were going through a similar struggle.. i give the internet a 9 in my awakening.

Yes I was a JW when this was trotted out by the WT.
It was even printed on the official WT issue 'BLOOD CARD' for a time.
Organ transplant was cannabalism & examples or reports of personality changes after organs were transplanted were given in the WT or Awake............this was particularly so with heart transplants we were told.
The recipients apparently took on the personality of the donors.
Spiritual food from big ole J's bounteous table.
You had to believe it to be saved....now it isn't worth shit.

Expanse before the flood... will He put it back?

god had created the expanse of water in the heavens that shielded the earth from the sun.
this is what he considered to be the the right way to build the earth.

I no longer know what I believe to be truth.
However if the bible did tell a true tale of events regarding Adam, Eve, Satan & a talking snake the Earth can never be as it was pre-Satan not even after the 1000 years of heavenly rule. The fact the Earth would be inhabited with ressurected humans is testament to the Satan's everlasting effect.
