You are right the vast majority are very sincere and good people. I know some that are less than sincere though. I feel that the leaders of the org know without a doubt that this is not the truth and yet still teach it as if it is. I get the sense that many of the bigwigs in Brooklyn are as bewildered as the publishers that the end has not come yet. They are just hoping that something, anything happens that validates their beliefs.

It is so depressing to think that nothing will ever change. To see 7 million emotionally invested, marginally sincere people, trapped by a religion that's only hold on them is its own self assertion of divine approval is sickening. It is the greatest scam in history.
As a born in, all of my Friends and many family are still active. It is such a bummer to leave them behind. They for the most part are good people but in the dark. I naively wish there would be a clearly visible moment or action that topples the whole thing.

I occasionally assist the accounts servant in collecting the money and have noticed that it is indeed the older ones who are financially carrying the burden. Once they wake up and realize that they will die in this "old system" they will have to cut back on the contributions to just make ends meet.
The wheels are coming off of the bus. You can just get a sense of desperation at the branch level.

I know that many elder body's are not unified, cooperative groups. There is always one elder who runs the show and oftentimes there are very heated discussions.
It is crazy that 7 self appointed men in Brooklyn, have exclusive control over 7 million followers. It makes me think of the saying; power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. It is telling that there have not been any recent appointments. Maybe there is a power struggle within?

When you step down as an elder many people automatically assume that you have been screwing around, or were addicted to porn, or other rubbish like that. I know this because when I told my wife I was planning on stepping down, she said that was one of the things I should prepare for.
