Change is in the wind. I can see it in my congregation. Many people know that there is something wrong. The indicators that tell them all is not right include: branch closings, no new appointments to the GB, increasing partakers, the end not coming, an increasing authoritarian tone in the literature, legal judgements against the Witnesses, and little to no increase in publishers. Not a tremendous amount of good news for the organization lately. I have even heard some muse that "it seems as if God's spirit is missing". People see that there is someting wrong. It just takes getting them to understand why these things are happening. SIAM

A Concerned Elder Speaks
by Franklin Massey ina lot of talk has centered around information dispensed at the recent km schools.
many brothers feel there is a "tightening up" taking place.
i had a recent experience that you may find interesting.. after the meeting i was working with our cobe on some congregation tasks when out of nowhere he said, "have you looked up any extra information about higher education since the km school?

This is one of the reasons I gave for stepping down recently. I feel strongly that I need to do what is right for my family. I never went to college and the lack of a degree will limit my advancement and perhaps job security. Like any parent I want my children to have more opportunity than I did.
I actually brought this up in a BOE meeting asking the other brothers about the hardline stance. All agreed that the direction has changed and that it will be a challenge to apply. There are several elders in my hall who will have their qualifications reassessed. I anticipate at the next CO visit there will be follow up on how to do this. Also generally after KM school is finished, the branch will send a "recap" letter to the BOE's.
The net affect is there will be fewer qualified men who are able to serve. It is extremely ironic that in an organization that prides itself on educational programs that education is demonized.

New Information On Blood?
by EmptyInside ini've overheard from a couple of elders, that they are going to be getting some new information on the blood issue.
now,i understand in the witness world, this could all be much ado about nothing.
but, does anyone know what this info could be?.

They are moving in the direction of making it a conscience matter as seen by the allowable fractions, cell salvage etc. My guess is they will allow your own blood to be stored and used.

In a weird way I could see them changing the stance on blood to a conscience matter. The GB 2.0 can use something like that to make their own mark. It could weed out those who are not in lockstep with "new light", and limit future liability. The number of people that might leave would be substantial.
However, if they did change on blood, it is a complete reversal from the information given to the elders in the 2010 KM school. I just can't figure out why Jehovah's celestial chariot moves like the teacup ride at Disneyland. You go around and around enough times it makes you want to puke and get off of the ride.

Don't get your hopes up. The WTS has got too much "blood on their hands" to make it a conscience matter. It would be the greatest thing to ever happen if they did though.
However there are around 50% est witnesses that do not have updated Health care directives. Odds are there are a number that have had blood because they could not understand the nonsensical fraction explanations.

At Km school it was mentioned that many publishers have not filled out the advance medical directive and that is why we receive such timely reminders. Can you blame someone for not filling out a legal document based on a nonsensical religious interpretation?
Lurkers- don't sign it if you don't understand it.
