Daniel being thrown into the Lions pit "evidently" has a parallel in our time. By framing trouble by decree and bringing persecuction against God's servants, the Governments and Church's of Russia and other parts of the former USSR have thrown our dear brothers to the Lions. However just as in Daniel's time Jehovah our God will shut the mouths of these lions and proctect his people. Is it not exciting to live in the time of bible prophecy as it is fulfilled? Convention 2011 rumor
by baltar447 inso i have good reason there's a possibility that the convention may have so nu-lite on daniel prophecy.
coming from the geniuses that brought us the overlapping generation, one can only speculate what nuttiness they will come up with next..

So presumptuous that they don't realize they're condemned by their own literature.
by miseryloveselders inthis is from the come be my follower publication.
pages 187-189. i highlighted what i found to be ironic.. 14. on the other hand, jesus must be very happy to look down from heaven and see that millions of people are fulfilling the disciple-making commission that he gave his followers before leaving the earth.
(matthew 28:19, 20) what a privilege it is to contribute to the joy of the messianic king!

I commented last night during this study that Jesus condemned the Pharisee's because of their narrow, restrictive, distorted view of the Law and how they were tremendous hypocrites. They thought they knew everything and forced the people to accept their misled views.
I know my wife can see the irony and understands what I am talking about. I wonder if anyone else in the audience can see the the irony? One of these days my comments will out me.
Really hard to sit through and read knowing that the Organization is so blind that they can easily point the finger at the misled corruted "false religions", but not realize three are pointing back at them.

How far are you on your journey away from the JW Org?
by punkofnice ini mentally left the org in march 2010. i stepped down as an elder after my lad got into trouble.
i researched the publications to make myself 'spiritually strong' but it backfired.. i was in mental and emotional turmoil, still on fs, the platform and meetings etc.
i had to force myself to conform to ever failing jw doctrine.. i announced to my family that i was not going back to meetings in august 2010 after the 'overlapping' joke of 'new light'.. i told the elders not to call.

Still in physically, mentally I am out. Don't know how long I can keep it up and retain sanity. Quit as an Elder a couple of months ago and have started to cut back on meetings, but really feel the need to rip the bandaid off. I will lose every social relationship that I have and might lose my wife to the cult. It is tough to think about hurting people who have always looked at me as a good example and a golden boy. It is crazy how if you express disbelief in a fallacy, that you become evil. Truth and facts have nothing to do with Witnesses belief and connection to the "truth".
I think this month is going to be a critical month.

Song- "we're Jehovah's Witnesses" in honor of this weeks WT study
by stuckinamovement inthis was the last song of the service meeting this week.
the new version sounds like a death march anthem.
the melody has changed and i think the words have also.. i truly used to like that song and it was one of the first song's i could sing as a kid.

I truly used to like that song and it was one of the first song's I could sing as a kid. Now to listen to it sung it is just depressing. Only the governing body could take music and songs and take the life out of them. Did anyone else notice it during the service meeting?
The new song book is further evidence that the retards in Brooklyn are without God's spirit, and also deaf. Praise Jehovah for such horrible music!

Blood Transference?
by Marvin Shilmer inblood transference?.
watchtower doctrine has advanced the natural and healthy transference of blood constituents via the placenta as a basis for letting witnesses accept blood fractions.
there is a fundamental flaw in that particular proposition that presents an internal contradiction to watchtowers blood doctrine.

Wow, This is Getting Tougher!
by Franklin Massey ini'm having a really hard time giving my meeting parts.
i had a service meeting part this week and i could hardly get through it.
i am no longer convinced of some of the things jws teach and so i try to either eliminate those things from my parts, or reword them so that i'm not speaking about that which i do not personally believe.

Oops sorry Franklin, I must have been thinking of another poster with a similar situation. Never hurts to ask if your wife is preggers? LOL
I came to the point where I realized that 1/2 of my life was over and I had spent it zealously preaching and teaching a lie. I wasn't going to allow the last 1/2 to be a waste. Life is too short to spend it doing something that has no value.
It is tough because if you are "born in" everything you do and everyone you know are tied to the religion. It can be a terrifying thought to just walk away cold turkey, which is why many of us decide to fade away with vary degrees of success. Once you realize that the cage door is open it becomes easier mentally.
I sent you a PM.

Convention invitation distribution campaign - Apr KM
by dozy inhad a quick look at the april km - they are having (yet) another invitation campaign to the convention.
slight twist though , in that any invitations not used are to be taken to the convention & used in informal witnessing.. traditional "convention reminders" insert - usual stuff about "jehovah arranging the program" , get early to the stadium , tip restaurant staff , don't make a scene at hotel reception desks if they have messed up your booking , no peeing in the hotel pool etc.
(i made the last one up , but you get the gist.

Funny, one of the recent watchtower study articles mentioned how Jehovah's Witnesses stand out because they do not simply invite people to a religious service. I guess they forgot that in preparing the campaign.

I couldn't do it any longer and quit recently. If you don't believe in it, just step down. It was the best decision of my life. I know now that I am not teaching people to believe something that I don't. It has resloved much of my inner turmoil.
Franklin, You have the best opportunity to step down with your wife being pregnant. " Brothers, my wife needs a lot of care right now, and when the baby comes it will consume almost all of my time". " I can't devote the time that is required to prepare talks." " I am sure you brothers understand how this is my first priority before the congregation's needs". "I look forward to the time when I can serve again."
