  National Anthem

  i was reading an article about some guy who refused to stand for the national anthem on 911 at the jets cowboy game.

  here is the question..... why can witness kids stand respectfully for the flag salute, but not the national anthem?

  direction is given that for the national anthem you must remain seated unless you are already standing.

  Why can witness kids stand respectfully for the flag salute, but not the national anthem? Direction is given that for the national anthem you must remain seated unless you are already standing. How does that make any sense at all? Aren't both of them patriotic displays of equal value?

  I apologize but I should know this as a former elder, I just never understood the reasoning behind it.

  i've wondered this for sometime.

  i support it for a couple of reasons.. 1. i've battled clinical depression since age 9. after my anti-depressants stopped working when i was 21, i heard about cannabis' positive effects on depression through the internet and a couple of documentaries so i tried it.

  I remember talking to a brother at the legal dept about this. The bottom line is even though medical marijuana is legal in many States the fact that it is still illegal under federal law prohibits a "true christian" from using it. The brother or sister would not be able to be used in any priveleged capacity.

  Is there anyway to get a consistent high level leak....????

  i often wonder if anyone has a good consistent leak from the top level of the wtbts.

  if not how can we get one, one with high level clearance.

  they can't want much, probably just another $110 per month or whatever they are getting now, times are tough.. nothing would shake the borg more than consistent correct information coming out early via the internet.. nothing is sacred, all is revealed through a well hidden leak.. mtm.

  i have found myself drinking more and more since i realized that the truth was a lie just to quiet my mind.

  it's not like i am a drunk or anything, it hasn't affected my work or relationships, it is that i really don't like being a slave to anyone or anything including delicious beer.

  mmmm beer.... so to avoid being a slave to a habit, i have determined to stop drinking.

  What are some effective methods of kicking the habit? Don't say meetings and service.

  i have long had an idea that i think is a very powerful tool in reaching even hard-nosed jw's.. .

  it would consist only of actual photographic scans of various documents, articles, photographs such as these from marvin shilmer's blog: (see next panel).

  there would be no extraneous non-official text whatsoever.. it would be published the size of an old life magazine and sent anonymously to jw's at their homes.. the cover would clearly contain the words: "all contents originally published by watchtower bible &tract society".

  had a talk with an elder-friend-family member today who said i should just do it if that's what i want to do, and my wife says if that's what i want to do that she's fine with it.
