can you post a larger copy that can be printed out? Has anyone ever sent this to the legal authorities like the attorney general? Unbelievable

No after school activities, sports dances, clubs etc.
Can't run a mic until you are age 15
If you are a single or married brother and you happen to be giving a sister a ride she must stay in the back seat ala miss daisy. Its better to give the ever watchful community the impression that you are a professional chauffeur in an 83 ford escort; than to have her ride up front in the passenger seat and have them think that you are boning the 65 year old overweight sister.

Do you think the Governing Body is having internal conflicts?
by stuckinamovement ini ask because the number of gb is lower than any time in history.
basically with the 7 (8 counting barr, is his head frozen?
) currently on,you have an average size elder body.

I ask because the number of GB is lower than any time in history. Basically with the 7 (8 counting Barr, is his head frozen?) currently on,you have an average size elder body. I know that many elder body's are not unified, cooperative groups. There is always one elder who runs the show and oftentimes there are very heated discussions.
It is crazy that 7 self appointed men in Brooklyn, have exclusive control over 7 million followers. It makes me think of the saying; power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. It is telling that there have not been any recent appointments. Maybe there is a power struggle within?
Or do you think that most of the work is being done by the assistants and the Governing Body is simply GB Emeritus?

When Elder's Fade
by zack inas a publisher, still buying the wt line that they were god's sole channel and any problems, doubts, etc... i had were all a product of my own lack of.
wisdom and or humility or failure of application, i would be shocked and puzzled at how long-time elders would resign and then fade away.
i would wonder: what could have happened.

When you step down as an elder many people automatically assume that you have been screwing around, or were addicted to porn, or other rubbish like that. I know this because when I told my wife I was planning on stepping down, she said that was one of the things I should prepare for.

Pissing On JWs That Are Geuninely Searching Here
by minimus ini just want to say something about witnesses who come here just to try to rebel rouse as opposed to jws that come here and are "searching" or are "active" members in the organization but are reading info on this site.. there's no reason to "beat down" witnesses just because they still go to meetings and we don't.
i've seen some insulting words against present elders and it's unnecessary and judgmental, in my honest opinion.
some jws like to spar with us on this board and it's a losing effort for them in reality.. who knows when or what will make someone actually leave the tentacles of the organization.

Thanks Cantleave,
"groan" you mean "Mr. Herman's doo"? Everyone is in a different stage of exiting. I think it is important to allow us to proceed at our own pace. we all have different circumstances and ways of approaching the problem. That's fine in my opinion. This board is invaluable to the process. I can say with all honesty that when letters are leaked or reports are made ie. the annual meeting, the resulting discussion is very interesting. You have a tremendous mix of viewpoints and perspectives that count for a lot.

I must say that I appreciate all of the view points expressed on this board. I am still serving (planning on stepping down shortly after the km school) and working on getting several family members to see the truth for what it is. Serving as an elder has given me more credibility in this effort. I refuse to sit on any committees, and will not teach something that I do not feel is true. It is a tough position to be in and having the non judgmental support of the fellow board members means a lot.
With that said, it is nice to see that there are people who are just like me in various stages of leaving the org. Cantleave is an inspiration to me by the way he did it. MLE has a moderate view, and Elderelite is in a tough spot also. I guess the main point of what I am trying to say is; the beauty of this board is that it is populated by people who are thinking for themselves now. Let's give each one the chance to reach their own conclusions about the org and their own involvement without judging them as evil hypocritical people.
This is the only place that I have seen in my life where those who are "still in" are able to question their beliefs without fear of retribution. I came here so I could question things without being criticized and or judged as being evil and hypocritical as I would have been within the congregation. SIAM

How Being a Witness made you Lose out on Higher Education and Careers
by flipper inhi, folks.
been thinking of this, because of having been raised in the witnesses.
i reflect back on opportunities i would have encountered and seized, had it not been for being controlled by the witness organization being told higher education was not needed.

I look back and am disappointed that I did not go to college but instead pioneered right out of high school. I would have loved to be a lawyer. However (for myself) being a witness and participating in the tms has helped me get many of the jobs I have had. The field ministry taught me how to present myself, how to speak in a convincing manner, how to find common ground with people. I also learned how to study and apply knowledge. Looking back I wish that I had gotten a degree, but feel that being a witness gave me marketable skills that helped me to launch my career. I have a great executive level job with benefits and retirement in a stable segment of the economy.

When are the last days spoken of in the scriptures?
by stuckinamovement ini have been doing a lot of thinking lately and have pretty much come to the conclusion that all of the prophecies concerning the last days were fulfilled in the 1st century.
that explanation is the only one that makes sense.
the generation of matt.

Thanks Sir82,
I was reading a link somewhere that talked about how it used to be the majority view that Revelation was written in the AD 60's before the destruction of Jerusalem. The paper talked about how the beasts described in revelation were the roman emporer's. I believe the term used for people who believe that Revelation was written before 70CE was preterist?
That sure seems to fit with the pattern. Billy is right, the last days last, and last, and last.
