  Confronted my mom about the new generation change and now she no longer gives me the koolaid edition WT

  so a couple of months ago, i talked to my mom about the new generation teaching, and she gave me the explanation of how generation could mean contemporaries, blah, blah, blah.

  anyway, yesterday she sent me a new shipment of literature.

  i got the latest public wt, the 2 new brochures, and the jeremiah book.

  Confused about god, question for aguest

  i have been reading around this board for a while but never posted and i have a question.

  i noticed that in the midst of all these witness topics that there were a few that talked about this other god and i had a question for the person who seems to be the leader of those believing in this kind of god.

  to the leader whom i believe is called aguest i have a question.

  it's been very quiet concerning him.

  anyone have an update, information on his where-abouts and current position?

  he use to be the spoke-person for the society in the news media etc.

  Where now?

  its been a long time coming but i kinda think im finally at the point of no return....... right or wrong, i have spoken to my 'friends' about my new feelings and the fact i no longer believe that this is gods chosen people etc etc... and have already been told that if i was to now celebrate my childs birthdays , her 'truth' friends would not be able to come to sleep again and associate with her... (she is 7).

  this is despite the fact they are allowed to play with there non witness friends who live down the road....why??

  the explanation is that their daughter would perhaps feel it is ok to do this when it is not... i ask why could they not just simply explain it is not our family's belief anymore (as my husband is with me on my decision), and my response is that it would be difficult to do that as we once were witnesses and now are not so it would confuse her daughter and make her think its ok to do these things now... .

  What I found useful was to shake off and forget everything I had ever learned in the Org and start again.

  They taught me nothing that is useful to me now, so I don't allow it to get in the way of my new life.

  You have some where to come when you need help and support now.

  @ sola scriptura - JWs have been df'ed because they don't believe the organisation is directed by holy spirit.

  And yet J.R. Brown appeared on CNN a few years ago, (look on You tube) and when asked if the Watchtower Organisation was directed by Holy Spirit he said, no it isn't and they have never claimed to be any different from other religion in that respect. He then added that there is a bunch of

  brothers that study really hard to provide the information.

  Yes I am aware that his colour is being discussed here but to say that he is a man that earns respect is pushing it a bit.

  Do some research on this man and then come back and question why people here have no respect for him.

  p.s. Snowbird is a beautiful black woman.

  Enjoy your new found freedom, true freedom.

  Be careful about feeling any guilt because your little girl will pick up on it, do everything with love and you'll be fine. Children soon make new friends, just have fun.

  i am a former ms and have been active and inactive since i stepped down about 20 years ago.

  i am currently inactive.

  i may attend a meeting or two a month, sometimes none.. i have no feelings of animosity towards the organization, or anyone in it.

  For those still "in" for whatever reason, how long did it take you to disconnect from the things you were taught?

  i'm coming up on a year of when i first "woke up" regarding the org.

  i still am "in" because i am trying to weigh out my options.

  my wife is still mentally "in" and i know way to many people.

  I don't think you can ever adjust to being like a robot. Once you are aware of the lies it really does get harder and harder to stay, and the very fact you have started this topic shows it's time for you to leave

  It took me 3 months before I got up and walked, so for you to still be in after 12 months is amazing. I knew I had to get out because I kept tutting really loudly every time something was said that I knew was a lie, the more research I did the more I tutted. We also had a major problem which quickened our exit.

  All that's left is finding MY form of escape, what will work for me.

  I truly hope you do find something that works for you, but it will never be easy. But you know that don't you.

  hello everyone, my name is bob and i am a recovering jehovah's witness.

  i have a beautiful wife and four equally beautiful children.

  my major malfunction is that i am very much a believer and as most here would agree, some major teachings do not line up in harmony with scripture.. god used the help of a pastor friend of mine and together we were able to show my wife from the bible certain biblical truths do not line up with "the truth".
