Hi Lil and welcome.
Your b/f sounds lovely, don't lose him. The commitee meetings where they ask you intimate questions are abuse and you do not have to put yourself through it at all. Do some reading, research W/tower literature especially the really old stuff. Most of us on here did that and you can see for yourself how they change history etc, as and when it suits them. Basically they shoot themselves in the foot over and over.
Don't confuse God and Christ with the W/tower, they are not the same. The Watchtower is built on lies and deception and it is possible to have a faith once you leave. Don't be scared, they have no power or authority over you......but please be aware they will if you let them.
You are very distressed, but I have seen others come on here and they have srvived.
Be strong and don't ever feel alone because there is always someone to talk to on here day or night.
Let this be your journey, we only come this way once....... make it mean something.

hi i am new here
by dawntodaylight ini had started studying with jw because i was curious about the religion because my bf then(now husband) was a witness.
i am a very open minded person and really had i known what i know now i prob would not have been baptized.
i always had my doubts but i really enjoyed the positive aspects that i was learning at the meetings...i studied with my mom in law.i prob shouldn't have done that because she has taken it very personal that we have stopped and even had the nerve to say i started studying to get in good with the fam!!

Challenge to DJeggnog Regarding his Lies.
by Essan ini'm disgusted.
so, i'm formally challenging djeggnog to either substantiate or retract his outrageous claim that:.
1. russell made no predictions about 1914.. 2. specifically, russell never predicted christ's "coming" for 1914.

Let me tell you something: Neither Jehovah's Witnesses nor the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses are masters over anyone faith,
Then somebody needs to tell them to stop cutting people off from their families. If you are not a master over someone elses faith you do not have the power to do this.
If they are not masters over someones faith then why, when someone is DF'd, are they told they can no longer pray to God because He will no longer listen to them.
If they are not masters over someones faith then why do they think they have the power to do such things.

The pain got too much so I wrote to my daughter....

she moved to live with an older sibling and cut off contact with me.

Loz I'm so sorry for you, I have a great big lump in my throat and I feel sick. There is'nt one word we can say to change the situation. We can't stop the WT from hurting people like this, but you know you have our love and understanding.
Your daughter is so young and doesn't realise what she is doing, hopefully she will wake up one day and come back to you.
You're in my prayers. xx
@Palmtree for you too.

What if JWs are right?!?
by brotherdan ini know this is a pointless question, but what if this happened:.
you came home from work one day, sat down, and turned on the tv.
there is a sudden announcement that the un has banned all religion.

Today's my birthday and I anti-witnessed to my co-workers! Can I count my time?
by QuestioningEverything inmy co-workers brought me flowers and a cake.
i was also able to anti-witness to them about the jw's.
it feels good sharing with others the real reasons why i never celebrated my b-day.

Religion is under attack. This can mean ONLY ONE THING!!!
by laverite ini've received two phone calls today from a family member and from another family member who's now in a fade (but has kept it well hidden).
relatives and other dubbies in their area are in a bit of a tizzy that the big a is about to hit.
i mean, they can't get to the k-hell fast enough today!

When we left last year everyone was on high alert, totally wired because the big A was almost here. You can even smell it someone said. The stock market was in freefall, people were losing their homes and living in tents (well some did). They had stopped the tuesday night book study, so many changes. The brothers must know something, aren't they guided by Holy Spirit.............bloomin 'eck I was getting all panicky just writing about it.
It's how they keep them in the WT....fear keeps 'em keen.
Religion being attacked means nothing.
