witnesses.net's and (a couple of years ago) hourglass2's the old hippie modestly says "hello" and enters if not the building then at least the area.
live in europe, am - (i am sorry to say) - a countryman of the unholy trinity consisting of kent, jan h. and norm, and thus well updated with the practises of the observer-thing.
do not support the majority of what they think or do.

each week on h20 this poster from oz makes comment on the current week's watchtower study.
may i commence my postings here with this post that has appeared on h20 by not looking at a scriptural teaching (so called) but a teaching of the watchtower nonetheless.
1. tertullian the first to use the word trinitas.

depends on what you mean by "good"?.
what you are likely to find is a wide spectrum of different personalities, with the common thread of having some interest in the wbts.
what you will not find is the kind of structured, controlled environment of the kingdom hall, where many of the subjects that could be discussed here would never be raised.
Welcome Danielle,
Good association can be found here!
We're not all up on the latest KM's..but if you bring up a topic...you'll get the full spectrum of thought! So go for it...we're harmless! If your convictions are sound!

when reading the new world translation i used to sometimes think, who translated this gobbledygook?..
i just read another passage where the nwt manages to slaughter the english language.. acts 21:30 .
nwt ...., and a running together of the people occurred:.... kjv ..., and the people ran together:.... niv ..., and the people came running from all directions.. this is an excerpt from the foreword of the nwt; it is a very responsible thing to translate the holy scriptures........into modern speech.
logical,
What you say is true...something I've known for a long time...problem is...most jdubs don't know that...and if they did...they would be as disturbed about it as I was.
The adding of words like [other]...as well as other words in [ ]'s that don't belong...is something else most jdubs are not in tune too!
I still go to the 'Purple' one alot too!

Amicus,
Funny you should say that you use the NWT large-print to look up texts...cuz I still do that too...for the same reason...it's all studied up, from all my studies over the years...but I'm weaning myself away from it...as I get my NASB all underlined and studied up as well

The NIV is a very readable, accurate Bible...the one I do my Bible reading from.
The NASB is recognized as the most accurate word for word Bible...losin' some of it's readability in the process...one I use for study.
Both Bibles are given high marks by Hebrew/Greek scholars.
Scholar...is a word unfamiliar to the New World Bible Translaton Committee of Franz,Knorr,Schroeder and Gangas.
No Westcott n Hort to be found there!
The point made, is never over-stated Amicus!

When I read about the reorganization, in the 1/15/2000 WT...I don't remember that the WTBTS was split up like THIS...
From the CT article---
WTBTS formed three new corporations last fall.
One, Kingdom Support Services Inc., will focus on the everyday needs of individual congregations.
Another, the Religious Order of Jehovah's Witnesses, will interact with full-time workers, who take a vow of poverty.
The third, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, will oversee religious matters
They got clergy now!?
Wow!
Thanx for the post V

i am currently df'd but seriously considering returning to the meetings with a view to reinstatement.
i am looking for honest, open minded discussion.

Welcome WS & DF...
All I can say is, what I tell everyone still thinkin' the WTBTS is the place to be...READ--READ--READ it all!!
With the knowledge, comes the PEACE you desire.
Also there is a place out there for ya, if you wish to still acknowledge God with others!
