  What little things used to excite you as a JW?

  i would get excited when i was younger and would study the watchtower and see that this weeks study only had 19 paragraphs.

  (made the study seem shorter,lol).

  when a meeting would get canceled because of snow (which was rare) and i would get to stay home and watch a cheers or the cosby show.

  I used to like:

  • public talk suddenly cancelled and only a WT study
  • when we would have coffee after the bookstudy (once a month) and shoot pool
  • the rare cancelled meeting due to snow!
  • egg (mc)muffins at the assembly
  • working in food service at the assembly (behind the scenes) meant getting to your seat an hour after the programme started, but then leaving for work an hour later to get ready for lunch!
  • working in the cold reefer when it was boiling hot in the convention
  • going out of town for assemblies to Montreal
  • checking out all of the sisters during lunch hour as we cruised the convention corridors
  • when our assembly hall actually had a sundae machine!!! (didn't last long)
  • frozen assembly puddings
  • sitting with your friends in the upper decks
  • submarine sandwiches at the assembly with the Kraft Italian dressing
  • when the convention was over!
  • congregation baseball and hockey games
  • working the mikes or the soundsystem made the meetings go quick
  • working guard duty in the parking lot during the meeting

  Do you sense a trend?

  i need some drink ideas.

  i know i was trying to quit, but i fell of the wagon sat.

  i like orange juice and vodka, coke and jack.

  Great summertime drink:
  

  Lychee Martini

  1 1/2 oz. Vodka

  1/2 oz. Lychee Liqueur

  1/2 oz. Blue Curacao

  Garnish with a lychee nut.

  Bethel tours.$$$$!!!

  if anyone hear gets a chance ,check out the $$$ it costs to do the bethel bull tour!.

  just type bethel tours and get the jolt!talk about being taken ,not even free meals(just personal advice on low cost diners etc, nearby!]..

  it's sad there a still suckers that buy[$$} the bethel bull emotionally,spititually and financially!

  Don't get any funny ideas "unbelieving husband"! While the itinerary suggests you might enjoy the hotel facilities, I don't think a bubble bath with wifey tonight is sanctioned activity by Bethel Tours.

  Check out the pictures page... I feel sorry for this guy:

  Poor bastard. Clearly his beard belies the fact that he isn't a dub. Check out why he's here.

  His wife "Sister Unbelieving Husband" dragged his sorry ass on this stupid bus tour. He likely got snookered into going by her telling him they were going to NYC for cheap. Look at her face - she's absolutely tickled pink that her unbelieving husband (beard) is touring with her getting exposed to Jehovah's org. Methinks he comes to the congregation get togethers for the chow (as evidenced by the first picture). Poor guy. He's a good husband for putting up with this sh*t. Imagine the condescending way in which he is probably treated by the brothers on the trip as they are "friendly" to him in so much as it might be a "good witness to him".

  I think he'd have been happier fishing or something. I just noticed that's one helluva big Coke bottle in his hands. He must be dying inside.

  Yeehaw! A WT study on the bus!

  I haven't travelled by bus for years, but the LAST thing I would want to be doing while sucking diesel fumes on the Interstates would be to partaking of THAT.

  Other highlights:

  "Free night to do laundry!'

  "Night in Newark!"

  "Optional visit to grocery store!"

  "Return home spiritually refreshed and encouraged" - at least the last couple of days of the "tour" have no WT crap to sit through.

  neil and i are enjoying our typical sunday afternoon snuggle on the sofa.

  we're watching some really boring tv and flipping through the channels.

  then somebody knocks at the door, sending my two little dogs into a barking frenzy.

  I kinda think that the new approach is to basically force the mags on people and NOT engage them in a discussion. I've been approached in the mornings coming out of Starbucks getting my coffee where the local pioneers try to just give me the mags and run before I can say anything.

  Cedar Point is WELL worth the trip. Best theme park I've ever been to, it's basically roller coaster Mecca. They have a new one this year that reclaims some world records - makes me weak in the knees thinking about it! They also used to take Canadian (must be hard currency) at par for park admission.

  Is this your bio Neil?

  "Neil has done Macquarie Uni course on lead paint management in 1997 - he works by himself, and does small jobs only. He is a member of Master Painters of Australia (MPA)."

  Is the MPA designation the one you sign after your name?

  The Darkness is a creation of the horrible taste in music that a lot of UK-bandwagon jumpers seem to enjoy.
