You are bang on undercover. The speakers that use that approach basically try to belittle and embarrass the listener into acting on the message.
"Here I am giving you this important message right from God's mouth on earth and what are you going to do? How are you going to spend your time? Are you gonna be so stupid as to take up worldly pursuits and worry about mundane things? Wow... you are a piece of crap then and that's how everyone in your congregation will look at you, you ingrate."

What a stupid move on their part to say the preaching work is fulfilled. What will they keep the sheep motivated with? Will anyone recognize this new equation of FDS = Governing Body and not question that? There was no Body before the mid 70's... so what the heck? I am sure they'll give some sort of spin about a transference of favour or some such nonsense.
I felt bad for any kids in the audience having to swallow this cultish dreck. It will give them nightmares.

I seem to remember in around 79 a directive in the Kingdom Ministry to the literature servants to destroy all copies of "Your Lamp is My Footstool" or some such book. I was young, but I remember being really bothered by that. Never did figure out why they directed that.
since a few months, it's on and off, but i find that the internet is very slow sometimes, like now.. i click on a site, and nothing happens, then i click on anoter site, and it's the same, then i come here and it's slow but i get it.. sometimes i think that the internet is under attack !!!.
so this leads to this question.. if you couldn't access this site anymore or if you had no more internet service, would this bother you a lot?.
JH, it's not likely your connection, but rather your ISP DNS servers are overloaded. When you click on a URL, that hostname needs to be resolved by the DNS to an IP address in order to load content in your browser. If the DNS server is heavily taxed by numerous users (because your ISP is cheaping out?), then you'll see a delay when loading a site. It will appear that there is a pause when you click on a link followed by the site loading rather quickly (unless it has ads on it that also have links to different hosts requiring even more DNS lookups). As an experiment, go to a site and see how long it takes to load. Then go to another page on that same site and see how quickly it loads. Hope that helps.

i was shocked she brought it up, as we just do not mention the religion anymore, but lately little things keep getting said at her conventions and assemblies that seem to be making this line something she wants to cross more these days.
what she brought up, was something i had not heard mentioned on here and i wanted some insight from people who actually heard it or knew more about it.
Now hold on a second... follow me on this one. Some of speculation about the new announcement/big change etc is that it centers on directly charging publishers for literature. What if the spin on this is as follows: - preaching work is slowing down to a stop - donations not coming in from the world - because it's stopping, in the short term til the Big A we introduce this new arrangement brothers to charge you for the literature which will be used as communications as the end gets closer Pretty easy spin huh? It's self-fulfilling prophecy: nobody outside the JWs wants to read the lit; therefore the preaching is slowing down and hence the end must be near. It would actually excite the brothers to be told that while they have to pay for the literature and support the work moreso, it's because the end is so friggin' close. Turning a negative into a positive...

Wow! I'd be interested if anyone else heard this. The one thing that makes me doubt the veracity of her statement is that I don't think they would try to gain disassociated ones back. That's playing with fire since many of them left because of what the knew about the WTS. It's pretty amusing if they've gotten to that point - knowledge is power, don'cha know?

One of the biggest pieces of crap I have ever seen. It's pseudo-science, New Age babblegook. Their supposed authorities are minor profs at various universities, not a single dept head. Pretty amusing cult material for Ramtha. I found it very insulting to my intelligence - it's the same smug "we know something you don't know" mindset that JWs have.
