Funny stuff candidly. We club seals of course and eat their meat on Thanksgiving like our forefathers did.
Actually a Canadian Thanksgiving is probably virtually identical to US Thanksgiving except there is no NFL football. I celebrate that one too!
in keeping with our family practice of celebrating on sunday and using the holiday monday to allow for a psyllium fiber treatment, we had a wonderful dinner this evening.
we'll be eating left overs for a many days.
to my fellow canadians who celebrated this wonderful seasonal weekend, once again: happy thanksgiving!

i remember my mom and my aunt making us kids open the door to the trick-or-treators and instead of giving them candy, we had to put wt and awake!
magazines (back issues) in their bags.
how embarrassing.. anyone else have the same experience?.
We often left the house and went to McDonald's. Most others pretended that they weren't home on Halloween (turned out the lights etc). I actually got to go for Halloween up until age 5 - then it stopped. Other kids gave me some candy though - didn't seem too bad.
Handing out WTs is pretty lame. Giving a little speech to kids about the evils of Halloween is simply ignorant.
badwillie wrote the following experience about an ignorant comment from a do:.
case in point:.
a friend received a full scholarship from a local college to study to become a veternarian.
I vaguely recall Wayne Johnson, but can't remember any particular experiences. I remember my brother saying good things about Zenny Pasternak. The real piece of work of David Wells. He was probably the cockiest CO I ever met. I guess his dad was a big-wig in the area and when Wells Jr. got assigned to the circuit it was a bit of a homecoming tour of duty for him. Excellent speaker and never boring to listen to, he definitely put every elder on edge. I can remember some of the old-timers like being a little uneasy with him and not sure what he was going to come up with. As to the comment early in this thread about a CO who said anyone watching the Simpsons was stupid, Wells recounted a Simpsons episode in one of his talks (about Lisa and Bart hugging the TV, and how it raised them) which let me know he wasn't a humourless stiff. We had them over to dinner and he was gracious, but all they could do was talk about pioneering etc as per usual and how good a life it was etc. He definitely wanted people sucking up to him and it kinda made me sick when a few of my friends rally went overboard with their personality transformation when he was around. I will also give Wells credit for this - he was a straight-shooter. He let you know if he liked you or not and he didn't hide his agenda.

Can't say that I even found this slightly amusing.
do you feel better----emotionally and mentally since stopping meetings and living under the rules of the witnesses?
i've heard reports of better physical and mental health since persons have left the organization.
The last two years I was in, I used to have chest pains all the time and a sick stomach. 6 months after leaving, all of that was alleviated.
does anyone actually think he's good?
he was just being interviewed in england and they are treating him like some sort of god, they even said he's as popular as jesus!
darn, what am i missin, cant stand him.
Marilyn Manson is one of the biggest poseurs ever. Trent Reznor exposed him and his feable motives (to be simply a Hollywood schmoozer) openly a few years ago in the song Starf*ckers Inc. He's got a nice Carly Simon "You're So Vain" nod in it.
my god sits in the back of the limousine
my god comes in a wrapper of cellophane
my god pouts on the cover of the magazine
my god's a shallow little bitch trying to make the scene
I have arrived and this time you should believe the hype

lets think, if i was a executive in a pharmaceutical company that gave out drug that were harmful, i then realised the drugs were bad, but the rest of the exectives didn't want to know and chucked you out,you lost your money and pension but you had the infomation to help people who had taken the bad drugs , would you, .
If you read the book and knew how Ray was left high and dry in post-WTS, I think you'd have no problem shelling out a few bucks for it. If it was available electronically people would just steal it like everything else. It's not like he claims the book is from God or anything.
