"Their betrayal wasn't quite on the same level." How can you say this? Peter denied knowing Jesus, not once, but three times. Could you imagine how he must've felt? I don't think anyone could. It almost brings me to tears thinking about how he must've felt. Nobody really knows what was going through Judas' mind except that he did collect 30 pieces of silver which he did give back. He had a choice to repent but chose not to. According to the Bible.

Do you feel that suicide is wrong?
by dandingus inminimus got me thinking with his thread about whether or not you know anyone that committed suicide.
i think it might be interesting to see what the opinions are.. what do you think?.
are there cases where it is understandable?

Samson gave his life as a sacrifice for God. God gave him the strength to destroy the Philistines. Samson did not commit suicide. He humbled himself before God. Read it again: Judges 13: 24 - 16: 30

God knows that we are not all the same and He will not intervine in someone's life unless they ask Him. Free will - we all have choices. Everyone has different sufferings, but no one can say that one person suffers more than another.

Haven't we all fell short of God's expectations? Isn't that why we have a merciful God who will forgive us, provided we don't reject Him? Was Judas justified in hanging himself? Peter on the same night, betrayed Jesus as well, but Peter sought forgiveness instead of killing himself.

Suicide is a selfish act. People end up at the point of suicide because of their pride. Also one is rejecting a life that God gave them. To me suicide is one of the darkest places a person can be, along with self-pity. My life has not been a bowl of cherries, if suicide was OK, I probably would have done it many years ago. Every day that I live, regardless of my circumstances I carry on to see what I can do for God and others. I know that life is short and my life is not going to be like this forever. We need God to help us overcome, with God all things are possible. Suicide is just an excuse for not having the courage to face life. And also not having faith and trust in God. The Lord would never give us more than we can handle.
