I've simply told people, who obviously do not understand what I have been through, that they simply do not understand what I have been through, and I do not expect them to understand, and as much as I love them and care about them, and as much as I value their friendship, until they can empathize and be the kind of support system I need there is an extent to which they are going to have to screw themselves and let me do what I need to do in order to deal with what I have been through.

by sabastious inmost people in my life that know how frequent i post on this forum find it very troubling.
i have often been accused of "not being able to let go.
" i don't agree that i post here because i'm not willing to let go, i think i post here because i think this place helps other people and i want to be part of it.

where should we go is a good argument tho because lots of ppl who leave jehovahs witnesses, specially the younger ones feel like they can just go buck wild they get into drugs,alcohol, crime, promiscuity . . . i know of several other examples of ex witnesses getting involved in things they probably wouldnt have if they would have stayed in the witness world . I myself am still lost as to what to do next with my life!
I believe that this is a myth perpetuated by the WTBTS, just like the myth that apostates are demonic liars under Satan’s control, a wicked people who promulgate lies, deceptions and half-truths about God and his spirit-directed organization, the WTBTS. In order to distract from the truth, the WTBTS will paint you with the broad brush of slander and character assassination, and put you into a box. The brand you’re given asserts that apostates are selfish, egotistical men/women who just want recognition for themselves, they want prominence, and a following of their own, and they are willing to tell any kind of lie against the organization of JW to meet that aim.
Post hoc ergo propter hoc- a logical fallacy. The fallacy lies in coming to a conclusion based solely on the order of events, rather than taking into account other factors that might rule out the connection.
There are far more examples of young ones who have left the organization and never get hooked on drugs and alcohol. Furthermore, I believe there is plenty of evidence that there is a direct link between drug use and alcohol abuse and the trauma and abuse children experience growing up in the organization of JW's. Most young ones do not want to leave the org just because they want to party and abuse drugs, they leave because they are being smothered and deprived of the normalcy of adolescence. The young lady in the video below articulates it very well.

Why I no longer believe the Bible is "God's Word" and I no longer believe in "God"

i started reading my mother's king james bible cover to cover at the age of 8. my father was very abusive and when he was abusing me, i would close my eyes and pray.
i never hated my father, which is one good thing i got out of prayer.. when i turned 13 i became a lay preacher and traveled, on my own, preaching in any church that would let me.. when i was 15 i studied with the jws and was baptized after four months of study.. i was a zealous christain but not a zealous jw, according to them.

Even the Bible says that there is no fear in love.
The Judeo-Christian tradition of faith in this invisibile being is based on coercion and fear, therefore, Christian love cannot be real love.
Without religion we would simply have good people doing good things, and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, now that takes God and religion.

The context is marriage, of course. In Matthew 19:12 Jesus lists three types of “eunuchs” that are exempt from expectations and responsibilities of marriage. The WT just sort of skip right over the first part of this insightful passage, and avoided discussing who or what these three types of eunuchs actually were.
(The above quoted Scripture in the article mentions that there are some who do not marry because they have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom, and if we are so stupid as to take that to mean that we not get married so that we have more time and resources for peddling WT publications, then you don’t deserve to get laid, ever, loser.)
Jesus was actually quoting Roman Law, which Jews in that time were made to recognize and live under. Roman Law legally recognized three kinds of eunuchs and they are actually listed and defined in Roman Law exactly in the order that Jesus spoke of them.
According to Roman Law, Jewish Rabbi’s, and Christian teachers in those days, a “born eunuch” was a man or woman, usually a man, who was fully capable sexually, but had no desire for or attraction to the opposite sex. In other words, the known characteristics of a “born eunuch” in Jesus day would be the same traits and behaviors that identify homosexuals today.
Jesus was not saying “eunuchs” get a pass from marriage so they can peddle WT publications more often; he was giving examples of those who are exempt from having to get married (which was expected of all people in order to keep growing the nation of Israel) period. And only one of those eunuchs listed by Jesus and Roman Law listed refrained from marriage/sex for religious reasons. Another eunuch was castrated by his master so he could look after the harem without fear of the eunuch impregnating the wives and polluting the bloodline. The “born eunuch” was generally used for the same purpose, but didn’t need castrating since there was no threat of a homosexual man, who was known to only be attracted to the same sex, having the slightest desire to sleep with his master’s wives. Castrating the “born eunuch” would have been redundant.
This is significant since Jesus was actually acknowledging that some men are born gay, and while Jesus never hesitated to condemn a lot of people for a lot of things, he did not pause here to condemn “born eunuchs” for same sex attraction and or homosexual behavior. In fact Jesus never once condemned homosexuality.

If the above is true, logic dictates that the principle would certainly apply to all other things. (and in this scripture we see the basis for what we now call “thought crimes”)
Eve didn’t really have to literally eat the fruit. If she simply desired it, she would have been guilty of the sin just the same.
Try telling another human being, “don’t think of the color yellow”. Immediately, that person WILL think of the color yellow, no matter what.
So, when Jehrkovah tells Adam and Eve not to eat of the fruit, they must’ve thought a lot about eating the fruit.
