Derailing is impolite/rude/disrespectful. I've seen so many kick off and get very 'precious' about their threads. Well done for not doing that Shelby.

in a discussion with some other dear ones, the question was asked as to what such ones put their faith in.
in response to one comment that"one can't function without faith," another disagreed, stating ones can, that "many do so every day... the ones who have trust" (in things like the sun rising in the east versus the west).
that trust extended to "faith" based "on nature and the natural order of things.

On my way, dear Loz (the greatest of love and peace to you, dear one... and thank YOU for not allowing yourself to get involved in the melarkey - 'cause that's what it is...)
Lol, you don't need help Shelby, you manage excellently without it!

are you moving on?.
i see some have a very hard time in life because of their witness past..
It was for a while Minimus yes. Dfing and divorce brought a breakdown. Loss of loved children brought terrible grief. But I have moved on, very definitely. My heart goes out to you Punk, I do hope things improve and I'm sure they can. Please feel free to PM me anytime. The damage from the WTBS can't be eradicated for any of us I don't think, but we can triumph over it and make our lives worth living, rebuild and find happiness, despite our losses and our sadness over them. I wish for this for all of us on here.

i'm sure someone here has experienced this before.
please help me help my son.
his wife of 15 months told him last night that she needs her space, that what she wanted 1 year ago isn't the same as what she wants now.
It's awful to think the worst of her but unless there is someone else splitting with your son doesn't sound reasonable. Watching our own children suffer in love is one of the hardest things.

while i am no fan of mother teresa after reading some of the revealed facts about her life and work - i thought this was just a little out of the realm of polite conversation (but was interesting):.
atheist group at dartmouth plans anti mother teresa event.. .

for any old-school ex-jws here that remember my many posts about my abusive jw mother and my sister committing suicide because of it...she passed away this morning because she began to bleed out and refused a transfusion.
she had been in the hospital for a month.
it appears she suffered a stroke and wasn't found by the brothers & sisters for three days (they missed her at the meetings).
So sorry for you. You're a strong and brave lady and all the stronger for managing to forgive such cruelty. Don't let the JWs make you feel any less at the funeral.

We saw it on Wednesday, I'm not a Bond fan but I enjoyed this. Put me off going to Scotland for Christmas though lol!

i am thankful for my partner of almost 11 years, and am thankful for the friends that i have made on the board, which include, but are not limited to:.
snowbird, broken promises, glander, mr and mrs. rabbit, big tex, nina, elsewhere, lady lee and all others i have had a chance to know.. i am thankful for our humble home, and am thankful that i have been able to fill it with furnishings and trinkets of yesteryear, things made from people that have been passed from generation to generation over the course of 200 plus years.. i'm thankful that we have enough food to eat, and that we are able to feed the countless raccoons, possums, birds, squirrels, slugs, snails, reptiles and every other living creature that passes our doorsteps and yard.. i am thankful that i had my little girl for 14-1/2 years before she died.
even though i still grieve for her on a daily basis, i am glad that i was able to share with her and give her the same love that she showed me while she was alive.. i am thankful that we are able to have enough to sponsor 3 children in africa and south america every month, so that they too can eat and have much needed medical care.. i am thankful that the latest overseas fight didn't end in a world war.. what things are you thankful for??
Beings able to see, hear, speak, smell & taste. Despite my losses I have a wonderful hubby and inlaw family, some good close friends who aren't conditional. We live in a modest but cozy home with food in the cupboards and we're warm and safe. I've enjoyed a wonderful education albeit late in life and things are looking good career wise for the future. We may not be the richest but we're very happy and doing ok. My heart goes out to those with so much less.
