The Jehovah's Witness religion has gone for good !!!
by snare&racket ini am not sure how you all feel as we all left at different times for different reasons.... but this new bible seems to have put some final nails into a coffin that was once my jw life.
the religion is so far and so different to the religion i grew up in that it has become something i feel no affiliation with anymore, no bond, no shared ideas or even sentimental views.
different teachings on when the end is coming.

I do not believe that the Watchower IS guided by Jahveh (the correct name for almighty God). He speaks to us individually now through His son, not any man made religion at all. (Hebrews1:2)

The WTBS organisation CANNOT be the truth. When they claim they are, they are calling Christ a liar. He said "I AM THE TRUTH...." John 14:6 what a tragedy that none of us saw this so obvious discrepancy before we got tangled up with them.

Was I too harsh?

since i've been a child my mother has studied on and off with jw's ( i'm now 34) so i've been around it most of my life, i studied on and off myself for around 10 years.
thank's to this site and jwfacts i'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again.

My daughter got her A Levels yesterday and is off to university in September
by Xanthippe inshe took english, maths and physics and acheived a* a* and a. .
it is the best thing possible for me, even better than seeing her opening birthday presents or the day she won the halloween fancy dress prize at school.. her dad died five years ago but she has coped and done so well at school.
it has shown me that despite what happens in life you can still do well and reach your goals, especially if you take a cult upbringing out of the equation!

Another year done......thank you JW.net
by snare&racket ini have just finished the most difficult year of my academic life by far, since august i have had 4 days off.. the exams were from hell, i ran out of money with 2 months to go, 2 months rent to pay and 2 huge exams to go.
with few friends and family around, it made for a scary situation.. but i did it.... today i got the 'pass'.... 6 years done, one to go.... i am it i'm the final year of doctor training.
for all the kind words and encouragement from people here, thank you xxxx .

I Just Had A Big Fat Bomb Drop On My Head and It Leaves Alot Of Questions
by TotallyADD inwhen i got home from work this afternoon my wife was standing near the door looking at me and said you need to sit down i have some hard news to tell you.
so i sat down and she began saying my brother called and i imminently ask if my mom had died.
she said no but my mother told my brother a deep family secrect that no one knows about.

I agree that you should take some deep breaths. Now that you know about this history and can put it into the perspective of your life it will take some digesting. It is definitely your choice about contacting your half brother, but you perhaps need to go gently, if you don't know if he's aware of his paternity? Maybe he does and wishes he knew his half siblings too? But maybe there are ways of researching the situation, I don't know. Can you speak to your Mom about all this? For sure it's not up to your elder brother to tell you what to do or not do.
