  Dear Happy Homemaker

  I have a problem with ironing. One reason is that I feel it was invented by Satan so I fear being demonized if I do more than a couple of articles at a time. Another reason is my allergic reaction to the chore, it brings me out in a rash of anger and frustration. This leads in to my next dilemma. The cupboard where I store the unironed clothes in the waiting queue is now bulging considerably. Do you have any useful suggestions as to where I might put upcoming items awaiting the ironing routine?

  just wanted to say...this place has been so good for me...i log on now every day and i find the people here are so kind and caring and funny...i really needed this more than i realised...so thank you all for accepting me on board without any 'conditions' ...its the best...thank you...it helps so much..... loz x.

  thank you all.. it seems that we former jw's have excellent reasons to be be upset.

  between being lied to about how russell and rutherford started this fruity little cult, having to deal with the coverups of pedophiles and other criminals, the mysoginistic treatment of women, being lied to about 1914 and the related date of 607 bce, the ridiculous and ever changing blood doctrine, being lied to about gb involvement in the un, the changed it once and now back again understanding of what a "generation" is, being lied to about when the end of this system was supposed to come, being lied to about 1975, being told not to go to college and instead explore the underrated world of window washing with the outstanding income potential it produces...... *panting* i am sorry, i am out of breath...... my point is this, (and i speak from experience): former jw's are pretty raw.

  and thus, easily exploitable on internet boards by trolls.. trolls see this.

  ok , im 9 months into a serious fade , inactive in fm and very spasmodic at meetings .

  mum and bro the elder came by to deliver the mags to me now , and yesterday showed the very interesting article on the tetragramaton .

  i refused to take them and told him to put them on the table .

  she was visiting for breakfast and we hadn't seen each other for over 2 years.

  i have since stopped being a christian and have been exploring paganism.. i don't advertise this for fear of offending people and getting judged for it.. so, we sit down to breakfast that i cooked at my house, and she asks me to say the prayer!

  i said that i'm not a christian.

  How very rude...what a pity you didnt say 'Actually, if you want to pray to your personal god in my home, I'd prefer that you do it privately please'

  But its easy to think of what to say after the event isnt it? I bet you were too shocked to even respond. And how dare she make a snide remark about your choices...the audacity of the woman! These days I try to train myself to stop if I feel something hurt my feelings....stop and say 'hang on I've got hurt feelings...did you intend that?' ....sometimes it works and then I feel really good about myself for being assertive, but still it often doesnt and I have to kick myself later...hence my motto: 'Dont let anyone put you down; and dont do it to yourself.'

  Do You Think Prostitution Should Be Illegal?

  recently, in my area, a number of people have gotten caught looking to pay for sex from a call girl.

  a catholic priest was one of the "johns" that got arrested.. i know there are some that argue that it is debasing.

  still, for a million years, it's been going on and there are willing parties who want to engage in this activity.. if two consenting adults want to have sex with one another and are willing to pay and accept the services, is it a horrible thing, in your opinion?.
